Bell & Howell Copiscan Spectrum corner problems

When the scanner feeds pages through, when the page comes out at the top one of the corners has been folded. It seems the page is catching on something in the corner. Has anyone heard of this before??

Re: Bell & Howell Copiscan Spectrum corner problems

It can be a nightmare to find out what is causing the dog ear page or folded page at the corner. Check your glass **** inside the scanner to make sure its seated in the scanner properly. The big one is the check the metal paper guides in the scanner paper path. If a guide is bend it will hook the paper and cause it to fold over.

On sidekick 1200, The right corner of many pages get bent or torn. It happens with an older one and a brand new one.

All scanners have sets of rollers for paper movement. Sometimes, a small piece of paer can be stuck to the roller. This piece of paer can affect paper movement resulting in paper getting torn. In this case probably a piece of paper is stuck in the right corner. This can also happen if a piece of cellophane sticker is on the roller.

Bell & Howell Copiscan 8000 Scanner spins and doesn't take paper in auto position. Will slowly pull paper through with lever up in manual position but constantly multi-feeds. Have changed skimmer and...

Just check if the papers are sticky. Stapled papers even after removing the pins are held together at the point where the pin was! In the horizontal direction it can hold two papers together. Multiple papers can prevent loading of sheets. Clean the pickup  rollers with a damp cloth thoroughly, no solvents please.

A one inch line from top to bottom of page only on page 2

Its good you narrowed it down to 2nd side duplex. It has to be dirt on the glass of the scanner. Its possible that dust has gotten into the ccd or camera area. Take a flash light and see if you can see anything stuck which is black on the glass or if it has a scratch on the glass.
