Maxtor manufacturer says that this drive is not ready for windows 7 and no driver had been issued. you will have to connect it to another computer to recover the data, or to use another computer in your network to access it and share the resource with your pc with windows 7
I've had two of these Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 drives and both have failed. On the first one, one of the Best Buy Geek Squad guys told me the card (circuit board) was bad. I bought the exact model, swapped cards and the old drive worked fine... for a while. Now it has died. So I am online looking for another one, so I can swap cards again to rescue my data & photos. NAS home server with RAID is my next step. Buffalo is the brand I am looking at...
