Question about Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot C902 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

The phone was dropped and seems to be dead

I tried a different battery with no success. A local phone shop connected the phone to a PC and said it seems to be completely dead. I thought I might try to open it up to see if there is anything obvious before deciding whether to get it repaired but I can't find out how to open it. Can you tell me how?

Here is the disassembly guide for the C902

However, its not very likely you will be able to see anything wrong, if there is an IC loose or missing you will not be able to replace this, without a very fine soldering iron or a rework station, if you damage anything further then it will cost you more in the long run and if you have a warranty still then it will void that...

If the phone is still under warranty, I would try a proper SE warranty repair centre, if your in the UK try one of the larger CPW stores, if they themselves are not a SE repair centre they should be able to point you in the right direction of one. Dont mention that you dropped it, as long as its not water damaged they should be able to repair or replace the handset for you for free :)

My blackberry curve 8520 is dead, the problem is an application that ask for permisions but the windows never dissapear and i can´t do nothing with my phone even connect to the blackberry desktop

If it is indeed 'dead' then it is not going to be doing much. :)
I would try pulling the battery first. Letting it set for 5-10 minutes without the battery. Then plug it in to power without the battery and try turning on. Let it power on all the way if it can. Then power down using the power off button. Put battery back in. Turn on. Plug into PC with cable. Check if it can sync. If it does not power on, your first statement is correct, it is dead. You might check wth a local repair shop to see what the issue might be, unless the phone is under warranty or you have insurance.

I have this phone and the battery will drop from a fully charged state to dead and i have to recharge is there something i can do to keep this from happening

The best thing to do is take your phone and charger to your local network suppliers shop.
1.try a new battery if thats ok problem solved.
2.try charging with a different charger..if thats ok problem solved
3.If itsnot the battery or charger then the problem lies with the phone ..ask for a replacement at this stage.

Hope it helps.

Nokia 6300 cannot be detected by my computer when

The PC seems to be OK. The phone switches off and hence can not be detected. You cant detect a dead device. Try a different battery. Or try using the charger while connectiong. If it does not go off then the battery is at fault. Change it. If nothig is detected faulty, then uninstall PCSuite . Restart the PC and re-install PCSuite without connecting the phone. When you connect the phone afterinstalling the SW, he phone will be detected immediately.

Erm, maybe because you dropped it.. just guessing. Anyway cellphones as other hi-tech appliances are very very touchy on the subject of handling. You can drop your phone from the 3rd floor and and still be able to use it and you can drop it 50cm and it'll be broken beyond repair. In your case something might have burned out or a connection severed in either case your best bet is repair if you have insurance (drops aren't covered though) or buy a new one. P.S. You can also try dropping it again if there is nothing to lose...
