Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer

Problems with the canon

A week ago, my printer showed a message "check ink" and until then it doesn't work anymore. neither the scanner and the fax. I can't re-install it because it shows me the same message continually.

please help me!

Hi i am vortash I am assuming that either you changed the ink cartridge or refilled it after you had this message , if you did it may be a simple thing like cleaning the print head connections with a clean damp cloth allowing them to dry for ten minutes replacing the head and purging the system from the menu directions , when you clean the printers head connection disconnect from the computer and the power before placing a damp cloth on electrical connections .. you may actually wet it with surgical spirit that is a good cleaning agent and it evaporrates quickly If this didn't do the trick try uninstalling from computer entirely and reinstalling .but try this little trick uninstall then shut down .. re start and install then restart again this sometimes helps the printer reset .. hope this helps regards vortash

Try to unplug while the printer is on..in order to reset everything..^_^

I am trying to scan a document, however the black ink is empty. It only shows the error message that I should refill my ink. Shouldn't I still be able to scan documents?

For Canon, if either color or black cartridge is empty or out of ink, "Scanner" doesn't work.

That's why your scanner is not properly working.

It's all connected... That's Canon.

Are you refill your cartridge by yourself?

Canon printer problem


Scanner not work because printer need recognized both cartridges.In your case color cartridge is defective.Replace it and the message will disappear.

My canon pixma MP145 showed E5 and wont print anymore


I have been using black and color ink refills for sometime now, but am unable to use my printer since last week. It shows E5 and on the dialogue box is stated that it cannot recognize the COLOR.

I have Canon M560 printer installed 8 months ago. I replaced the CLI 221 Magenta and CLI221 Cyan ink cartridges, won't work and got this message Error 1411. Cannot recognize ink cartridge


I have about 6 canon printers with a 3in 1 using PG40 and CL41. I have never encountered the problem you have. I have looked into some other sites and noticed a number if CLI-8 cartridges being replaced by Canon. I think there are only 2 probable problem areas, he cartridge or the software you are using. I suggest you call up Canon and complain about this problem. Seems like you got the printer 6 months or so ago. You should able to get to do something like replace the printer or cartridges. I'm assuming that you don't refill or have your cartridges refilled so the contact points should not be messy w/ ink. You can try cleaning the contact points on the cartridges and printer. But I'd call Canon and explain to them the situation and see if they can solve your problem. Solve I'm implying is to replace your cartridges or printer. Let me know if this helps.

sounds like you have an empty ink catridge. even though the catridge doesn't look complete empty the sensor can decide it is and won't work until you change the cartridge. You might want to remove and reinsert all of the cartridges making sure they are in the proper slot and properly setted.

Cyan cartridge


My IP4200 started doing this about a week ago it tells me I have two Cyan cartridges. I don't, cartridges are canon cartridges and were changed four months ago worked fine until now. Pressing the middle button the resume button is working eventually, so far, but I don't know for how long. Seems like a hardware problem as I deleted and reinstalled the software no difference and everything worked fine for the first four months.
