Other people in my office have been able to using instructions that are prionted and around the office but I can't seem to despite using the same phone.
The instructions are;
Dail "sp-phone" and dial 265.
For the no answer greeting press "5", then "1" and then "1" before leaving message.
For busy greeting, press "5", then "1" then "2" before recording message.
When I try to leave my no answer message I'm told to "enter the person's extension". When I enter mine it says there has been an error and asks me to try again.
I've been going round inc ircles for the last 90 minutes and have looked in the instructions I've found online but it doesn't mention how to do this. It does give some information about how to forward calls but I just want to set up my voicemail with a greeting.
As I've said, my colleagues have apparently followed these exact instructions with no problems so I can't see how I've gone wrong.
Any help would be much, much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rosalyn.
Thanks for all the helpful information! First of all, I think you have a TVS/TVM voice mail system. That's good, but what does the lady say when you dial 265 or 165 from either your phone or a phone that works?
If you have voice mail set up, the prompt would be to "Enter your password then #" or "You have X new messages" if you don't have your password set. If you don't get ANY of those on your phone, but do on someone else's, you don't have a mailbox.
Mailboxes are added from the System Owner's mailbox (999) by
option 6 then 1. Once you have a mailbox, you do use option 5 and 3 or 2 or 1 for Name, Password, and Greeting.
Since there is little difference between the models of voice mail, I have attached a TVS-50 manual. The instructions for adding a mailbox start on page 280 (or use the System Manager's Guide tab on the left).

With any luck, you'll get voicemail too :-)
Carl
The voice mail prompt is "You have 0 messages". The voicemail is setup, however, the call is not being picked up. The phone rings and rings.
From your extension dial 7104 165 on the intercom. That sets Call Forward-No Answer.
The amount of time it takes to forward is set in 2 places. System program 202 sets the Global timer and 619 sets each extension timer. Both sytem programs require the installation password to set.

Fantastic! It worked. Thanks Carl!
The system is quite old... We inherited it. Where would I find the system password... Maybe the original password is still set up? If so, was there a generic number used?
Question 2 How to set up the main voicemail during office hours and after office hours?
Thanks Carl.
