Question about Epson Stylus RX500 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I own a printer Epson RX 500 all in one. I have the printer for about 2 years now.
What is happening!! After printing the printer does kind of shh sound and error message pops out that I have to call service center.
Printing is total wrong. color, smudges.
I'm forced to switch off / on the printer, and error messages is no longer apearing.
Ofcourse another print same happens.
I did test printing nozzle check all looks fine. Where do you think the problem is?
Do you think that the sound is depleting color ?
I replaced cartridges and same thing.
Please note: cartridges are new.

I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.
The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.
For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.
I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.

My RX500 black ink is streaky. Nozzle test proves the same.

Hi the ink chamber was empty when this happened. I opened the scaner, moved everything around. Take all the pads out to see if there is any problem.
I soaked out one pad, and put everything together.
since then it prints perfectly.
Do you know where we could buy the pads for the printers? I would replace it myself.

Excellent! It worked!!!!
I didn't even remove any pads, just stuck a paper towel down inside the unit and dopped up as much ink as possible. I close the top and it now works.
Why doesn't Epson have this in their troubleshooting section, what an easy fix.

Hello guys. thanks for the help. I tried to contact Epson. they wanted 200 euro for the change of the inkpads. They claimed that the problem can be somewhere else.
I get my own solution. I open the printer. As I did not have service manual, I kept the scanner on. I pulled the pads out. Dried them using paper towels. then I moved to the tricky part where the inks drops. I find that the waste chamber is clean. only the top pad was completely wet. I guess it did not go through.
anyway printer works, I'm happy saved 200 cash. next time I buy new one. Thanks a lot

The Waste ink chamger absorbtion pads nned changing -a very messy job.
If you have an Epson service agent in your neck of the woods, they will do it for you.
