Question about Marantz SR-5200 Receiver
Marantz SR-5200 has been trouble free for many years. However, recently started hearing the odd pop/hiss from left channel and now the left hardly gives any volume at all. If you put your ear to it you can just hear a signal. This is the same for Analog digital or tuner. Wondering if this is a known fault and if so is there a particular part that needs replacing.
Marantz SR 5200/6200 lost audio or crackling on left or right channel except in mode s-direct is now fixed !
The root cause is a defective inegrated circuit on DSP board (the one with digital inputs). To fix it change the chip CS4391 by a new one or better by the improved version CS4392. On my device a capacitor was cut close to this IC : replace one 1uF after changing the IC. For any question search me with my callsing "F5RCT"; i have a spare IC for the one who is able to change it !

Please repeat speaker setting from your manual and confirm that left channel is ok.-invert left channel plug with right channel plug if the problem moves from left to right you will have the problem in your speaker or its cable-if not the problem in your receiver itself.
you can apply contact cleaner in volume control and move it forward and backward and test.
