The safe way to quickly check. UNplug unit from wall. Place a screw driver or any metal blade IN BETWEEN blades and hold for one second or two.NOTE:: the unit is NOT going to be plugged into the wall. U are just discharging any left over electricity that may not kill you, but will hurt if something is holding an electricial charge.
Open unit and look at the circuit that comes in direct contact with A/C input wires. Look for FUSE.Looks like a small glass tube with metal caps on the tips. This fuse could be covered with a plastic cover. What u are trying to do is see if fuse is popped. Replace it.
