Question about Yahoo Messenger
sign in as root by typing: su
enter password when asked
apt-get install libssl0.9.6
now download ymessenger
save it to a easy to find location
go back to terminal
write: dpkg -i /write the full path where you downloaded the file here/ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb
Run /usr/bin/ymessenger (or just ymessenger) and follow the few simple instructions for setting up Yahoo! Messenger. An icon will be placed on your desktop.

There is no official release of Yahoo Messenger for Linux anymore. However, you can chat with your friends who use Yahoo Messenger by using a Linux chat client such as Empathy or Pidgin, both of which are available in the Ubuntu software center.
