REAR PASSENGER SIDE RUNNING LIGHT KEEPS BLOWING FUSES... ANY IDEAS AS TO WHY?

There is most likely a short in the wire feeding power to the bulb. Start at the back of the fixture and follow the wire look close for places where the insulation is cracked or worn. Pay close attention to places where it could rub on something. If you find a bad place, tape it up and see if that fixes it. If not keep looking till you find it. When you do, you'll have to replace that segment of wire.preferably all the way to the light.

You have to call Direct TV to register the new receiver, each registration card is paired with the original receiver. You may have to pay a $20 service fee.

No tv sound through reciever's speakers. How do I hook up?

TV is not customarily a sound source. It is a video destination. Get your TV-related audio to the receiver from the same places the TV gets it - each source device's audio outputs.

YAMAHA HTR 5560 KEEPS TURNING OFF

sounds like you have the polairity reversed on the speakers
and yes it does make a difference
check polairity also make sure unit is well ventelated
you wouldnt use your compouter if it was inside a card board box
so make sure the reciever can breath also
recievers get too hot and they start blowing chips off the board

Humming sound on cable setting

have you tried to input another audio source into the audio inputs on the reciever that the cable box outputs are going into on the reciever ?
you may also need to ground the recievers frame and cable box frame to earth ground.
you also may have a bad connection in the wires or jacks for the audio connections
or the cable box audio out circuit needs repair

Satelite reciever

I assume Dream Satellite was charging you for the use of the receiver. At any rate you will need a valid SMART card that is activated by Dream. I assume that you did not cancel your subscription also. If this happened only after the new receiver was installed you could have a bad receiver but more than likely the SMART card is the issue. Contact Dream and see if they can send you an updated one.

Right Channel Not Working

I have had the front, left and right channels go out over time. I have fixed all of them, and each time it has turned out to be a cold solder joint. While I love NAD and will continue to purchase there equipment, this generation is plagued with poor workmanship.

To fix the channel going out, I removed the top cover. Back cover and 2nd card from the left (looking at the receiver from the back side). This card handles all of the audio processing. I have found cold solder joints all over this board which has caused channels to suddenly go quite. I have never found a bad component. Also, I have cleaned the interconnect to be backplane (board that the audio processing board connects to) in the case of the center channel going quite.

If you have poor FM reception, the first board from the left (looking at the receiver from the back side) may have a cold solder joint on the coaxial connection for the FM antenna.

Does re-doing the Connect process work? [i.e. press the button on the receiver, then on the mouse - repeat for keyboard]

Reciever troubles

Slapping the unit causing the missing sound to come back tells me that there is something loose in the receiver. This could be a bad solder joint or dirty switch contact. Vibrations, such as sound, could be jarring the bad connection and causing the sound to cut out when it was just working a few seconds before. I don't believe you have a bad part in the receiver. When a solid state device fails, its gone for good. Again, it soulds like a bad connection. Finding a bad solder joint can sometimes be difficult. What you need to do is take the cover off so you can see the bottom of the PC board and using a good light source and magnifying glass, look for the bad connection. You can try running the receiver with the cover off and using a plastic pen, try pushing down on the PC board and see if you can make the sound cut out. You may be able to isolate the area by where you push on the board. Look for loose wires too. While you have the receiver open, buy some electrical contact cleaner in a spray. Radio Shack used to sell this as TV Tuner cleaner. I don't think they carry it anymore though. Spray the switches and rotate them back and forth several times. See if this resolves the problem. If you do find a bad solder joint, all you have to do is resolder it with some new solder. Make sure you do this with the power OFF. You're not looking at a big bill here. It's an easy fix once you find it.

Good Luck.
