Says "wireless network connection adapter is disabled" but I did nothing- It just stops working :(

your wireless card and everything is fine.the problem is very clear.1> if you are using windows 7 switch over to xp or any linux based operating system.i would suggest you to switch over to windows xp sp3.there are many problems arising out of windows 7 now a days.2> do you have any antivirus software installed? if yes then check it's settings if it is terminating the connection.3> if you dont have any antivirus softeare installed, then install it because virus may prevent you to connect through wireless system and may block the will also slow down your pc and many applcations are to be found 'not responding' and it will bound you to restart the may also lose some data like password and username which you need for automatic sign-ups.

Sylvania SYNET07526 Owners

For all owners of the Sylvania SYNET07526:

Do not fill in the "OWNERS PROPERTY BLOCK"
filling in this block of information with the Network ID, Password, and Domain will block your machine from connecting to the Internet.

To check this information, do the following:

Click on Start
Double click on Settings
Click on Control Panel
Double click on Owner
Click on Network ID Tab
If any information is in the blocks, remove and leave blank
click on X in the upper right corner to go back, click on start and shut down

Push the power button to start up. Note: holding the power button down for about five seconds ensures a start up . If you have trouble starting up.
Flip the machine over and find a small hole about 1in. diagonally from the right lower corner of the data plate. Insert the tip of a tooth pick into the hole and press down for about 10 second, with the AC power connected to the machine. It should re-load a fresh copy of the operating system

To populate the WiFi with password information.
Double click on the WiFi icon down in the right corner tool bar, it looks like a small computer with two small arcs radiating out to the side. If it has a red X under it, this means you are not connected to the internet.

When you double click on that icon a window opens up named RT701. look to see if the fields are filled in.

Address Type: DHCP
I.P.Address: 192.168.1.(2,3,4...your device number)
Sub Net mask:
Default Gateway: (your server I.D.)

If Not:

Click on Wireless Information tab, wait for your wireless name to come up.
Click on your network name.
Click on Connect.
If the connection needs a network key(password) it will switch to Wireless Network Properties.
Uncheck "This key is provided automatically."
This will allow you to position your cursor in the Network key box and type your Network key.(password)
Click on OK.
You should see your red X down in the right corner disappear.
You are now ready to sign on to the Internet by typing your choice URL in the Internet Browser.
Note: that all internet locations are not available to CE 6 as this will only sign on to internet sites that can funnel you to the smart phone abbreviated sites. Not all sites have the ability to do this and your machine does not have enough memory to render the "Big" sites sign on window.
If you use the included "You Tube" apps icon, then this directs you to the abbreviated YouTube site. If you try to sign on to the "Big" YouTube site, it will give you a browser error
Stay tuned for other TIPS.

My dlink 615 wireless routers connects fine and works for awhile. If I leave my computer for a bit, when I come back it isn't connected and doesn't connect again unless I shut down and restart

This should be related to power management setting or the wireless network adaptor present in the computer.

Access devicemanager (right click on mycomputer and click on Manage).
Click on device manager in the left side of this window
Right side click on the + sign besides network adaptors
Double click on the wireless network adaptor there
In the properties window click on the power management and disable power management for the card.
Now try checking if the issue is rectified.

Hi Friend,

Please follow the steps in order to retrieve the WEP code from the router.

1. Click Start\ Run\ type cmd and hit enter.
2. In the black window type ipconfig and hit enter.
3. Note down the default gateway and close this window.
4.Open web browser and type the default gateway adn hit enter.
5. If you have not changed the default password of the router then type admin as the password and leave the username blank.
6. In the router setup page click Wireless and then click Wireless Security.
7. You may note down the passphrase and try to connect the wireless devices with this passphrase.
8. in case if there is something written in Key 1, then try this instead of passphrase.

I hope this will resolve the issue.

My friends told me that wep security mode is less secured that WPA2, so I change my security mode to make it more secured, and my windows-xp was disconnected to the network and cannot connect anymore, but...

Just try to remove the preffered networks on your computer and reconnect your computer to the wireless network using the password that you just created.

If you can bott the computer normally and don't have to type a password in, then go the control panel and then choose device manager. Scroll down to the mouse and keyboard plus signs and right click on the mouse and keyboard one at a time and select uninstall. When the original mouse and keyboard have been uninstalled, reboot the computer. When Windows starts back up it will be forced to search for the new hardware and will install the drivers for it. If it wants to search for new ones allow it. If you have to type a password, you will have to go and get a usb keyboard that works off one of the usb ports. If this doesn't work, reboot the computer with the Vista disc in. Click any button to boot from the cd. When the windows files load and windows starts, choose repair, choose the windows installation and let windows search for problems and see if it can fix them. If all fails, go to system restore and back the computer up a few days and let system restore fix the problem by taking you back in time a few.

The laptop loads up, lets me sign in, then goes blank, no icons

Try booting to the safe mode (F8 at boot) and see if you can log in via the safe mode. If you can't, try booting to your Windows CD, go to recovery console and run CHKDSK /R
If you still can't log in, try running diags see if the hard drive lists a failure.
if no hardware failure found, there and none of those solutions work, then re-installing windows will likely be the final resolution
