Question about Fuji FinePix S20 Pro Digital Camera
My S20 Pro has suddenly developed a problem whearby the view finder and LSD Screen are now half purple half B&W with lines running across the screen. THe digree of purple varies.
When taking picture the result is blured and purple.
I have not dropped the camera or had watter ingress.
Any help please would be appreiated
I have four S20's great cameras when they are working. Three don't. All have the same problem blurred image then eventually no image. I have posted one today for repairs at a cost of £99.99 fuji include a new 12 months warranty on the entire camera.
Solution..send it to fuji for repair. Or bin it & change manufacturers for your next camera. Personally I love the S20 especially when useing Raw.

I had exactly the same problem. I sent mine back to Fuju UK and they replaced the CCD for a cost of £99.99. It certainly seems to me to be a fault with the design of the chip, and should be replaced FOC in my opinion.

We should blog this problem and get new buyers to change manufactures...this made in China thing is getting worse, we are being short changed, I really loved the camera. Now back to the top 4

It may be the internal battery failing...try charging two sets of batteries and put the fresh batteries in over night...then replace with the other set of batteries and see if the camera works...if the internal battery is totally dead and is the cause then a repair is the only solution...unless someone comes up with instructions on how to replace the internal battery

I have the same problem,camera was a present from my son,did not use it much due to cancer treatment,now ok but camera not.Sent it back to fuji for repair estimate via my local camera dealer at a cost of £25.00,result was £130 to put it right,they gave no explanation as to what had gone wrong. Rip Off !

I have exactly the same problem and now the screen has no image at all. In fact, it says on the the bright screen that there is no image.
I contacted Fuji Canada and they would not own up to any problem and since the warranty of one year was over, I would have to pay for it. It would take about 3 weeks for a turnaround and I am so frustrated because I ave to leave for Africa in 10 days.
The technician at Fuji was not at all helpful and just beat around the bush. Just hate bastards like these.

This is a common fault with this model and is caused by the faulty CCD sensor ( nothing to do with your handling of the camera ) . Contact your agent because this fault is repaired free of charge even if the camera is not under guarantee. See enclosed image of 4 megapixel. CCD sensor from a Canon camera : camera :
