Question about Hitachi 51S715 51 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have a hitachi 51s715 rear projection and the power button blinks but no sound or picture. All fuse were blown, changed that. Could it be the power surge. What does it look like if it is that. Any other ideas I can try

Just curious... since the Hitachi 50UX57B projection TV does not have any lamps in it, exactly which "lamp" did you replace? Did you actually replace the entire blue CRT itself?

If you are not experiencing any shift in colors, it sounds like the power supply is failing since this will affect all three colors.

the three guns that the lenses drive operate at 28kv.
there are very high and dangerous voltages in a tv set.
you can look for the fuse main pc board by the power cord..if it is black, there is a major short.if it is just barely blown, change it.
the fuses are 3ag glass type and just pop in. use a set of rubber gloves and insulated pliers.. tvs are DANGEROUS
