is the wireless adapter usb connected? try another usb item like printer or camera or jump drive in the same usb port. if it doesn't work then the usb port is shut off if it does, you might have a bad wireless adapter!

Try moving the PCI card to another PCI slot in the computer. Sometimes individual PCI slots stop working properly. If you put the card into multiple PCI slots and it never recognizes it or lights up, your card may be defective.

CANNOT INSTALL WIRELESS G NOTEBOOK ADAPTER

- check if the adapter met the system requirements - uninstall any previous wireless adapters installed in the computer
- insert the adapter - wait if the adapter gets detected - if it's detected it'll ask for the setup CD. - run through the recommended option first and if it fails choose the advanced option - manually browse for the drivers that your system requires using the CD - if it still fails, try downloading the most recent the drivers for the adapter - if it fails again, try installing the adapter to a different computer. - if the adapter still won't work with the other computer its defective

I need to reinstall my wireless internet driver

1. go to the manufacturer of your wireless card adapter
2. dowload the latest driver for your wireless adapter matching the operating system you're using.
3. uninstall the driver by going to start>right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager> go into network adapters>right click the network adapter for which you want to reinstall the driver and click uninstall (you may want to restart your computer). when you do the new hardware wizard may come up and you may want to do either one this:
a. if your wireless adapter is a usb adapter: unplug it, run the driver installation file you download in step 1 and 2 and replug the usb adapter as directed.
b. if your wireless adapter is a pci card: you can run the installation driver file you download or you may want to manually install the driver using the add new hardware that came up when you restart your computer and point to the folder where the driver is (cd or driver you download from internet)
