SOURCE: TC-P50S30 Plasma HDTV won't come on blinks 7 times

That is a error code and depending (Panasonic?) on model means either power board or another issue---the error codes can sometimes be misleading or too vague to pinpoint to one board.

Note: these (all brands) sets only sell boards, no individual parts.

Not knowing your skill level you may be able to tell me that, the first thing would be to examine the power board for damage or puffed up filter caps---let me know if questions here etc.

Light blinks 3 times went off then started to smoke

Time to unplug set and have a look inside for the burnt part---all parts will have a location number on the board next to them.

Light goes blue to orange, no picture or sound?

Hello,

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for blown fuses burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc. you have to this with the help of multimeter to read...

- You can look at the sample of the power supply board, the picture with the soldering side has labeling of what you should have on the output of the power supply, yours may be labeled on the top side of the board, there are high voltage on the board so you must be real careful, if you are not sure, let the professional handle it.

Good luck in solving the problem.....

hi,
if this is a plasma TV you may have an issue with something that is called a X-sustain or a y-sustain board. these are the board that control the image on the screen, its referred to as the "POP of death" i would suggest opening the TV inspecting the boards (they are usually the board on top with aluminum heat sinks) and looking for busted or burnt capacitors!
