Hook up another known good monitor to the video card and if it still has problems with red then you know the video card is bad and needs to be replaced.

If the known good monitor still works after being hooked up to the video card then you know the original monitor is bad.

Let me know if I can be of further help.

Gateway FPD2275W LCD monitor lost "Red" signal of RGB display

Not really, first check your connections, normally when you loose red a pin broke off the VGA connector.

If the panel died then its probably not worth while. The red panel is however, under the most stress.

Screen has a blue tint - no red

sounds to me either your video card is bad if your computer came with one or if your video card is integrated into the computer then the motherboard is bad.

Basically if you have a video card, it will plug into either a PCI or AGP slot and alot of times they overheat or the fans fail on them. If thats the case you would replace the video card. If you have integrated video on your motheroard meaning you don't have a card and you plug the monitor into the motherboard video connector then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

Press the menu button on your monitor, then use the controls on the monitor to select something like color balance and turn up the red.

HP Pavilian external monitor color problem.

The easiest thing would be to check your cable for a bent or loose pin. Next put another external monitor on the laptop. The circuitry to provide video to the laptop screen and the external monitor are separate except that they share a video processor and video memory. There can be bad electronics involved.

I lost all red in my monitor.

With Windows Vista, right click on the wallpaper background, click personalize on the bottom of the pop-up, and choose windows color and appearance. Fiddle with the intensities with the various colors. Messing with the pink setting seemed to help. If you're lucky, the red will come back and you can choose to revert to the default settings.
