My Mitsubishi turns off automatically...

I bought the tv new in 2000 and it's worked with no problems. Recently, the TV has a problem that when turning on the tv, it automatically shuts off about a second later. The power button turns green but within the second it shuts itself off. Power is connected but the tv won't stay on.

Please help...

I had the same problem with an RCA, check your sleep mode settings on it, it may have defaulted to 1 min, so it cuts off when it cuts on

Take the speaker panel off, and then the other black panel directly underneath exposing the guts, there should be some multi colored wires exposed that go to your power on and volume up and down, whatever... follow the wires up underneath, they go in the hole the panel was covering up.. (dont try to take the screen off just plain dumb..) there should be 2 white plugs connecting the to sets of multi colored wires just inside that go to somewhere in the back of the tv... Unplug them both big one first then push power on nothing should happen yet.. then unplug the second one wait about a minute or whatever plug them both back in and push power. it should come to life... remember not to touch random **** or you will get shocked to ****. MY vs. 60707 works fine now... (you might have to do this a couple times before the fuckin' passive aggressive ****** will work:)

you have glycol damage which means one of your picture tubes leaked on your signal board and caused it to short causing this problem it can be very expensive to repair....the only thing you can do at this time is try to find another signal board and replace it....this will solve your problem.-----hope this answers your question...
