Question about HP w1907 LCD Monitor
I have hooked the monitor up to different computers and i have the same problem. The screen comes on and looks perfect for about 1-2 seconds then goes black. If i shine a flashlight directly on the screen i can see that the computer's display is still there just very dim. i have messed with the settings and nothing. i am assuming that it is the inverter board from alot of other posts that i have read... i took the computer apart but could not tell what was actually damaged or needed to be fixed. the monitor is an hp w1907 could someone help me along with maybe where i could find a new inverter board or how to fix the one in the computer?? any information would be greatly appreciated.
Butterx99, First thing you should do is surf the net for pics of swollen electrolytic filter capacitors. You will find many, many examples. You will also need to inspect both the switch-mode-power-supply and the inverter boards for failed thermally cracked (fractured) solder joints. I will try to attach a pic of what you would be looking for. You hav failed to mention how many printed circuit boards are in your monitor. Some have only 2, others have 3. If only 2, then the "inverter circuit is part of the SMPS board. Did you take pics so that you can remember where everything goes when you need to reassemble? Let me know by email if you don't get a the pic through fixya. Bye for now. I'm louie12fix on fixya or email@example.com

Good morning! possibly the hardware is having trouble powering up the panel/ccds and it should be replaced/serviced according to the terms of the warranty, I suggest to bring it to an HP authorized service center, best regards
