Fan for bulb making loud noise

The Fan that is behind the replaceable bulb is making a really loud noise.  Took the TV in for repair, it is out of warranty.  Shop said it is was the color wheel?  I looked at it myself, seemed to be the fan that kept the bulb cool.

Fan sometimes kicks into high gear

Gem its not a problem with dust if a motor makes noise especially an electric motor the bushings are going bad and needs replace sometime easy job sometime hard. The fan on projection TV sits by the bulb so it shouldn't be hard. The Fan should be easy to find it on the web

Yes, its fan noise and you need to replace noisy fan.
Let me know exact model of your Sony TV and need to know what fan is producing noise to provide you part number and parts shop info to buy that fan.

The fan that is behind the bulb is making a loud noise for a few minutes and then the noise stops. We tried spraying the fan with WD40. ?? We can't seem to find a way to remove/replace this fan. Can't...

sometimes dust accumalates on fins of fans and causes rotation to deform and gets fan off balance causing noise .Also heat from lamp causes deformaties on fan and causes fan bearing to make noise. These fans can be replaced fairly easily

Broken edge of bulb- TV won't work

The color wheel was the cause of the loud whining noise. The only item in the set under pressure that could possibly pop is the lamp. The fact that you have the 3 lights on is the lamp failure indicator. The lamp driver or ballast can also fail and give the same light error but I have never had one to pop.I would replace the lamp for sure. Also the lamp as you know sits right in front of the color wheel so perhaps it popped and fragments of the lamp ended up on, near or around the color wheel

A friend of mine does warranty work for samsung ,name is chip call him if you need too! 256-778-0300, most of the time when lamp needs replacing set will not play, the fan behind lamp is there to keep lamp cool when playing ,DO NOT touch lamp if you do this will leave fringer print and lamp will burn your inprint on it when hot!!! then you will have to replace lamp ,they are not cheap.replacing lamp is fairly easy, besides i really dont think lamp is your problem, most likely it would be fan making noise.

Loud noise from tv

if this is a very annoying screeching or sqeualing type sound, it is, in my experience, the "color wheel" which is located inside the lite engine. this is a replaceable component whick costs about $110....i've done this repair many times with no problem....

Toshiba DLP fan noise (52hmx95)

i constantly hear complaints about fan noise in dlptvs if you sit in front of your computer you will hear the same noise even in the next room there is no solution to the fan noise problem this product has a huge cage fan and a second and third three inch fans in it.... more than the samsung product it can be noticeable if the tv is on hard surfaces ie wood floors ,inthe corner, glass top etc the vents on the back of the tv allow for proper cooling of the lamp at shutoff so it doesnt shatter the tube its kinda like annealing glass its designed to extend the life of the lamp .... which im sure youve priced call toshiba and tell them your lamp is bad right now and get a new one for an emergency ( warranty if you can do it ) they are also improved this product is known to have short bulb life sometimes the zinging noise you hear is indicative of a bad color wheel in the light engine which would require replacement ( not cheap) toshiba will not piece out the color wheel assembly individually
