  • drift_diablo May 14, 2009

yes have tried that aswell..its a tricky you think it could be caused by the windows update?would logging on in safe mode and rolling back the driver be of any help?

  • drift_diablo May 14, 2009

thanks will give that a try and post back later.

  • drift_diablo May 14, 2009

just an update..i tried to do the roll back of the driver..but it seems that the driver has not been updated and doesn need updating as its still a new laptop..but i forgot to mention that it is using a secondary atheros software to controll the wireless..could this atheros software be the problem???should i switch it to the windows wireless manager??your thought..

  • drift_diablo May 14, 2009

solution found.last windows update somehow affected the atheros wireless software and stopped it from finding wireless networks available.disbaled atheros and enbaled the windows wireless management and tada wireless works sweet yet to find out why the last windows update stopped the atheros software from functioning..

I forgot about the update that you mentioned. Yea go into safe mode and choose the latest date that the wireless card was working properly, then let the machine reboot and see what happens. Let me know.

if you roll the system back and it doesn't take out the update then make sure you uninstall it thru add/remove programs.

don't use the atheros wireless software, disable that or uninstall that and use the windows network icons to connect to the wireless network. Hope your Thursday is going well for you. Let me know how things go.

Hi George, sorry to hear/read this about your laptop.

One, you need to make sure your laptop's configuration matches the recommended environment under which Windows 7 OS was to be installed.

Check what system requirements for Windows 7 OS is and compare with your laptop.

Second, you may have to revert back to Win Xp for your laptop to re-stabilize.

Another option is to install Windows 7 Ultimate. This should operate fine on your laptop.

Post an update or feedback please.

ASUS PCE-N10 drivers are not recognized

Now that you included the PCI IDs, I can tell you that rtl8192ce is the correct
driver for you. With some versions of the RTL8188CE, you need to have a new
kernel, or use the compat-wireless, as described in the thread that you read.
Unfortunately, the PCI ID is not sufficient to tell if your device is one of them.

You need to be aware that the vendor driver needs a lot of changes to work with
64-bit systems and newer kernels. I have made those changes *before* I pushed
the driver into the kernel, thus I do not provide any support for people using
those vendor drivers. DVD Replication Services

How to stop the Wireless Adapter For droping The internet connection Every 1 minute

What are specifications you are using for your wireless network? B, G or N, WEP or WPA-1 or 2 encryption, etc.
If everything was working fine at the beginning and no one has changed any of the network settings then that indicates an issue on the laptop.
You can try to reinstall the driver by downloading it from the Acer website as a Windows Update could have installed an 'updated' driver that doesn't work properly.

If I may ask, is your window 7 OS is an authentic one? because normally this issue only happens to those OS that is not Authentic.

I would strongly suggest to contact your Laptop Manufacturer and ask them if the OS window 7 starter is an authentic one.

Then actually they will be the one to help in updating it as well. If you want I will be the one to provide the contact number of your manufacturer. 1-510-739-3777

Resource Conflict - PCI network controller slot 03 and 04

I had this problem for almost a year. One day I decided to put it back t factory default, it work for a week and then the Error message pop again at boot. I installed windows 7 CR and after a week of working fine, same thing happen. I open my laptop, check everything, clean it, and nothing. Until I found the by pressing really hard on the slot where the conflict was, it work 9 out of 10 times I started my laptop. On my Acer the Slot 3 Conflict is where the memory card reader is, or atleast that is what I though. After taking my laptop to an IT Tech, he discovered that the Slot 3 was right next to the wireless network card, and by pressing the area reallu hard the computer will start 95% of the time. But when I say really hard, I mean really hard, as a matter of fact, while trying we even crack the bottom case.

The solution was one of two options:
1. Acer motherboard in certain models, it was defected, and it was known within the puclic, prompting the same Error Conflict that I have, so we would have to get a new Motherboard ($120) or

2. Take all the OS out of the computer, and Install an Linux OS like (Ubuntu-free) you might ask yourself why?

Because Ubuntu doesn't depend on the hardware to function. Windows does. Ubuntu is a self dependable OS, Unlike Windows.

#2 was my solution, it's been alamost 6 months and I never had the probelm again.
