Question about HP Compaq nx7010 Notebook

Laptop starts dumping memory

Hi. I have a HP Compaq nx7010 and just recently, whenever i am working on it, after some time, the screen goes blue and there is a message that say "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" Further, it says "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
It further goes on say that if some new hardware or software was installed, to install any windows update. Further, it says if problems continue, to disable or remove newly installed hardware/software.
The technical information is as follows: Stop: 0x00000001  (0x40550238, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xF6F39A84)

w70n51.sys - Address F6F39A84 base at F6F1D000, DateStamp 3f889386

Then it begins to dump physical memory to disk.

How do I fix it?
Please help

That model has to have at least one. I've worked on that model before. Look at the bottom of the laptop and find the door that has the symbol of a memory chip. Take a phillips head screwdriver and then unscrew the screws so the door comes off.

After that you should see at least one memory stick in a slot held by metal connectors on each side.

do you have more then one stick of memory in the laptop. If so keep one in the laptop and see how it runs. Basically we want to verify if one of the memory sticks is bad.

Sorry to dissappoint You mate, but NX7010 has no built-in microphone... VERY illogical design, for its time, but it's the sad truth. Buy an external one, plug it in and You shall see, that the sliders and tickers are suddenly working.

Turn on Laptop gets to desktop with icons then screen goes blank

By "where I want to go", do you mean going on the internet? If all you are getting is a blank screen, then you have the "about:blank" virus. Go here, print out the instructions, and read them well. Then read them again and follow them closely. At one time I had it on a desktop system and the instructions worked just fine.
