How can i use de webcam.

Webcams are used for video conferencing or video chat in those applications which need the webcam hardware. Look for programs installed in your PC/laptop. If it has a webcam, it would have a program. Alternatively chat client applications like Yahoo messenger/msn messenger/gtalk have the ability to enable webcam from their interface. You just have to select start my webcam.

How do download a splitcam

There are many splitcam programs out there. I recommend giving Fit splitcam a chance.

Fit splitcam is a multi-camera solution that allows you to easily multiply your webcam video in any conferencing software such as Skype, AOL, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN etc.

Usually, if you have a webcam connected to your computer, you cannot use it in more than one application at the same time, and there is no standard Windows options to make this possible.

With Splitcam (and other multi-cam software) you can use several different video conferencing applications at the same time all through one input source such as your webcam.

Look here to see a fuller description of this popular SplitCam application: http://download.cnet.com/SplitCam/3000-2348_4-10500269.html

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

Unable to chat on AIm with camera that is already set up

Which ever Messenger or Skype you are using has to be setup in order to function. Same way wih AIM. Normal 0 I'll assume that you are using YAHOO MESSENGER and walk you through the setup. All Messengers and Skype have an Audio & Video setup in them so the camera and microphone work properly with their program.
Bring up Yahoo Messenger and on the top left click on MESSENGER.
Then click on "Messenger Preferences."
Next in Category click on "CALLIN & DEVICES."
When that comes up check and check to see that Microphone is set to your audio card.
Next insure that the speakers are set to you audio card.

Then go to "Test Audio"
In Blue "Open the call setup Assistant"
When the window opens follow the instructions. When finished your camera audio should function properly.

Also you need to go to the Video setup and do the same so it will broadcast the pictures.
Hope this helps. Bud

Logitech to Mac

I had a search and found these Q&A's, so see if these can sort out your problem. Q. Can I talk/see to Windows users? A. Yes, there are video conferencing standards in existence, and if these are adhered to and implemented properly it should mean that Mac applications could connect to Windows applications - or even dedicated hardware solutions. However, at the moment, the simplest way is to use iChat on the Mac, and AIM on the Windows system. The results are nowhere near as good as an iChat to iChat link, but it works. Also, consider iVisit, Yahoo Messenger, SquidCam or ohPhoneX. Q. Can I use Virtual PC on the Mac to use MSN Messenger, and so talk to Windows users that way? A. In theory it might work, in practice I've not got it to work using Virtual PC 7 and a USB Logitech webcam. (Virtual PC will definitely NOT support the FireWire iSight camera). The USB camera required drivers to work on the Virtual PC, and installing them caused my iMac G5 to crash. Even if it did work, Virtual PC is NOT fast at this kind of thing and would probably not work very well at all with video conferencing. If you really need MSN Messenger to work quickly with video, it's almost better picking up a cheap PC.
