Re: hooking up my gaming router

There is a 90 % possibility that the wireless settings on the gaming adapter and the router are not the same. Try to reconfigure this again. Remember that the gaming adapter's wireless settings needs to synchronize with that of the router to make the gaming adpater works. Call netgear and verify the settings on your wireless connection and reverify the settings you have on the adapter. For manual instructions, see user guide at

I used to have a linksys router but now have a Apple Time Machine. When I power up my WGA54G all i get is the power light. When I connect my WGA54G to the Time Machine, only the ethernet and power are lit....

Well, I'm not quite sure what your asking, exactly, but I'll try,

What are you wanting to connect the 'WGA to?

--"I used to have a linksys router but now have a Apple Time Machine."--
The Apple "Time Machine" is the backup "software" that controls the "Time CAPSULE'S" Hard Drive so I'll take it you mean the Time Capsule. The Time Capsule is already wireless.

The Time Capsule is just a wireless router with a Hard Drive in it. You should have set the Time Capsule up the same way you did the Linksys router. The Time Machine software on your computer can now access the Hard Drive for backup purposes.

"Time Capsule" connects to the '"WGA" wirelessly
'"WGA" is connected to a"Game system" (or network ready non-wireless product) via the Ethernet cable.

-"When I connect my WGA54G to the Time Machine,"-
OK,,,,,,, After looking at the manual on-line I think I know what happened, I believe the Manual is wrong! The "NOTE" mentioned to hook it to the Router first but how the heck are you suppose to access it from there? You CAN'T!
I think they had a "Brain Fade" and meant to hook it to the computer.

Hook the 'WGA to the Mac Book Pro and you should be able to access it now. You might want to make sure the MBP's Network connection LOCATION is set to AUTO to make sure it connects OK.

Make sure the switch on the side of the 'WGA is set to - infra- and not -ad-hoc-.

Hook an Ethernet cable to the computer then hook the other end to the 'WGA then plug the power cord into the WGA to turn it on and then try the Ip # it said to use in a web browser. If it then shows the log-in screen then enter them in like the manual said.

According to the manual if you can't access the 'WGA via the IP # then it some how got changed and you will have to reset it like the manual say's.

I hope I understood you OK, Good luck....

Try to hook up with net flicks through my 2 wire router and blue ray player blue ray tells me it fails gateway ping do i fix

The router needs to hand-out an IP-address to the BluRay player -- either it is not doing that, or the BlueRay player is not properly accepting the hand-out.

Check the "network" settings on the player; be sure that 'DHCP' is enabled.

cable from modem to router(should be the internet line )port. then computers hook up to the other ethernet ports. restart your "modem" not router, when all computers are set up.

I don't have a cd installation ...have no idea how to hook this up..please help

You probably dont need to get any cd, but here is a basic setup. 1. First reset router to factory specs..there is probably some sort of reset hole on the router. With router disconnected Stick paper clip inside and hold while you turn back on router about 10 seconds. 2. Next with computer and Modem turned off plug the Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port on the router. 3. Next plug an ethernet cable from the router to the PC. 4. Turn on Modem, then PC it should get you on the internet. 5. Usually the Wireless portion is defaulted to ON, so knowing you have a wired connection, you can now try with your wireless device. 6. Windows will find this signal and it will give you an option to connect to it. When you get an IP address, you will be on. To get into more advanced setup, you will need to get into the router. Try It you should be alright
