Question about Coby TFDVD1560 15" LCD TV with Front Loading DVD Player

Tv is not picking up signal from Winegard Digital HD Receiver

The instruction book for my Winegard Digital HD Receiver (RC-1010) says to connect the Antenna from my camper to the Winegard Receiver RF input port using a coaxial RF cable. The next step is to connect the "Y/Pb/Pr output" and "Audio Output ports from the Winegard receiver to the "Y/Pb/Pr input" and "Audio Input" jacks to my coby tv (tfdvd1560). I have tried the "video" and "component" TV setting, and the TV screen says no signal is being received from the Winegard receiver. Please tell be how I should set the Coby TV to receive the input from my Winegard Receiver.

Thanks
Henry Martin

I contacted the manufacturer of the colby tv,and they seem to think that the winegard RF(RC-1010)receiver is not compatible with the colby(tfdvd1560) tv for some reason, but they were not sure why.

Based on the setup that you have, I can see that the connection from the camper to your Winegard Receiver RF is correct, but you have to make sure that the "Y/Pb/Pr" is connected to the 'INPUT' RCA ports of your TV. If everything's properly setup but you are getting the same problem, you need to power cycle the receiver (Winegard RF).

To power cycle it, please follow the steps below:

1. Turn the receiver off by unplugging the power adapter from it.
2. Leave it unplug for about 5 minutes.
3. Turn it back on and see if the receiver will work.

If you power cycled it and you know that everything's properly connected but still not working, you need to refer to the manufacturer of the receiver for second opinion. Or you may try connecting the TV into different COAX antenna to test the TV.

Have a great day!

Do you have to have an optical cord from receiver to tv..koss model ks3102..if not i have rca cords were do cords go.

HD broadcasts by TV stations are often broadcast in Dolby Digital. If your TV can output Dolby Digital or HD then you will need to have the TV connected to the receiver via either the optical in, or the coaxial in. If the receiver can get the Dolby signals via the Coaxial and the TV can send them via a Coaxial socket it should work. Don't forget to set your HD set to output Dolby signals. If the TV or Receiver can only send Dolby via the optical you will have to use that. Optical cables can be picked up cheap these days. I have seen them in pound shops!

How do I get back my local channels on my Vizio by rabbit ears

Make sure that you have the TV tuner set up to receive ATSC (digital) signals via "Off Air" or "Antenna". Having it set to the "Cable Ready" mode will only get you Ch 2 - 13. These settings are usually available in set up and may even allow the TV to scan for available channels, etc.

Television signals are at such high frequencoies they will be reflected form buildings and other objects, and attentuated by moisture in the air and through the leqaves of trees, etc. In large cities yourt TV singals can arrive from different paths Digital TV signals bounce as di the old "analog TV" signals but the technology allows the receiver to ignor singals that are out of phase so the picture is "clean" despite multipleversions of the signal arriving at the antenna at slightly different times. That said, if the signal is weak, there is little you can do other than experimanet with positioning the receivng antenna. Typically, building walls attentuate televisoin signals so locating the receving antenna close to a window often provides for stronger signal reception.

Amplified antennas cannot amplify what is not there. Moisture in the form of fog, rain and snow will attenuate television signals and if thre signals are marginal in good weather, they may be virtually not-existent in wet weather. Digital TV signals are threshold dependent. When they are toow eak, you won't see anything. Back in the old analog TV days, you could see a "snowy picture" but digital TV doesn't allow for that. The signal is either strong enough to be viewed or it is not.

You have few real options if you do not subscribe to cable or a satellite tv provider. Amplified antennas can help but if you need them you live in a marginal TV reception area to begin with and more prone to the vagaries of weather and the seasons.

No video from receiver

It's all in the setting of your receiver, you will need to acces the menu page from your receiver. I would refer to the instruction book index if you still have it. Check the index for hooking up HDMI.
If you have lost your instructions, I suggest, Google your model number. Most Manufacturers have the various instructions on line by model number. Hope this helps.

Hello

Your TV will display all High Definition signals as 1080i True HDTV™ and all standard definition signals will be displayed as 480p.

Component Inputs 1-2
YPbPr(480i/480p/1080i)
These inputs can be used for the connection of A/V equipment with component video outputs, such as a DVD player or external HDTV receiver. Please see Appendix B for signal compatibility.
Input DTV (480i/480p/1080i)
This input is used to connect an external DTV receiver, and can be configured for YPrPb and RGB plus H&V signal types.

As a special feature, you have the ability to adjust the red and blue light beams in reference to the fixed green light beam. This process is called convergence. There are two separate memories for convergence. One, for SD 480i/480p signals; the other for HD 1080i signals. SD convergence should be adjusted while watching an SD source and HD convergence should be adjusted while watching an HD source.

Wide Expand: Enlarges the picture, cropping some of the image on both sides. This Expand format is useful to remove or reduce black side bars on HD broadcasts of 4:3 images with black bars. Available for analog 1080i, digital SD 16:9 and digital HD signals.

InputDTV
This input is compatible with most standard DTV and satellite receivers with component video (YPbPr) outputs. Compatible DTV signals are SDTV 480i/480p, and HDTV 1080i. All other DTV signals, such as 720p, need to be converted by the DTV receiver to one of the compatible signal types. Please check the DTV receiver specifications before connecting.
This input is compatible with some DTV receivers using RGB with "separate H and V sync". Compatible DTV signals are SDTV 480i, 480p, and HDTV 1080i. All other DTV signals, such as 720p, need to be converted by the DTV receiver to one of the compatible signal types. Industry standards for DTV RGB signals (systems, synchronization, timing, and signal strengths) are not currently established. These inputs will not be compatible with all DTV receivers that offer RGB, HV outputs. RGB, HV signals with less than 5 cables are not compatible.
If your DTV receiver offers both DTV component video signals and DTV RGB, HV signals, we suggest you use the DTV component video signals. Check the DTV receiver specifications before connecting.
Ok.

The Scientific Atlanta box was a cable box and recieved CATV signals. The Direct TV box is satellite only. You might check if it has a built in ATSC tuner for off air digital signals. Direct TV in most locations offers the major networks in HD format.

To get your over the air signals, you would of course hook up the outside antenna cable to the back of the TV set, as per the owners manual. Then go to channel search in the set up menu as per the owners manual, then do a guide plus set up and follow the directions word for word in the owners manual. It is just way to long to explain here. In case you do not have the owners manual, you can get one from here http://www.p4c.philips.com/na4/3/34pw981599/34pw981599_dfu_aen.pdf Good Luck
