80gb Black Ipod

I charged the Ipod one night and went to use it the next morning and it would not turn on at all. I have tried holding down the menu button and settings button for ten seconds. I have also tried to toggle the hold switch, to no avail. Any suggestions.

I charged my Ipod last night, and now this morning i was on it playing applications for 10mins, then all of a sudden the screen went black. I put it onto the cable for charging, but it stayed black. I...

Sounds like your battery has died.
You have three options:
  1. If your iPod is less than a year old, go to the Apple Store and they should be able to replace your iPod for free on the spot!
  2. If your iPod is older than a year, you can pay Apple a fee to get it fixed
  3. If you are looking to get a new iPod anyway, bring your old iPod with you to the Apple Store and you will get 10%off when you buy a new one! (Mention that you have your old iPod with you!)

Ipod screen went black, and now i cant turn it on

Hold the top button and the bottom button at the same time. My 8G iPod Touch does that all the time. It just means it's completely dead. If you just got it it synced with iTunes, it will say that it needs iTunes again. It should be fine though. Let it charge over night then. That's what I did. Mine was fine the next day.

My Ipod Nano 4G won't open

  1. First make sure that your iPod’s hold button isn’t on. This is the little switch at the top left corner of the iPod video that you can move to “lock” the iPod’s buttons. If this is on, you’ll see a little orange area at the top of the iPod nano and a lock icon on the iPod’s screen. If you see either of these, move the switch back and see if this fixes the problem.
  2. If the hold switch wasn’t the problem do the following:
  3. Move the hold switch to the on position and then move it back to off.
  4. Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart the iPod nano. You’ll know the iPod is restarting when the screen changes and the Apple logo appears.
  5. If this doesn’t work at first, you should repeat step 4

I have a black ipod screen with just the apple icon.

try the reset option
press Enter and Menu at the same time until you see the apple on the screen
if the battery are still low you should try to update the firmware with itunes. if the battery are ok you should be ok but if the problems happen again run a firmware upgrade with itunes
Good luck

Ipod 5th Generation Video froze and is now dead

Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

May have disconnected wrong from USV?

Hold down on the middle button while holding down on the menu button and see if the Apple logo appears on the screen.

That should reboot the Ipod and get it back up and running again.

Make sure the lock switch isn't on before trying it.
