When your refrig. is operating , The cool air is dehydrating the surrounding area inside. You will find if you leave a ice tray with water in the freezer for a month. There will be nothing left. This moisture ends up in drip tray on bottom refrigerator . Which evaporates into air outside the refrig..

My ice maker is making ice but very slowly. I have checked the water line to make sure water is flowing and that the line at the ice maker is not blocked in any way. Could it be a faulty selenoid switch?

for how long very slowly?in every 2 hour the water become ice but the ice produce in your ice maker is maximum of 15 pcs small cubes, its means depend on the tray if is big or small. if you use your ice in every 30minute or your family is using an ice by 1bottle its means the ice produce is not enougth for your family.and the tray becomes empty after you use at the same time. but if the unit is hard to make an ice or frozen your frezer side its the unit is have a problem but is not to easy to repair by if your self coz the part inside is hard to remove.

I have model #TFX25PRYAWW. Ice maker is not filling with water. Water still operates through door dispenser.

NUMBER 800 is your water valve. It has 2 solenoids. One for water and one for ice. I suspect your ice solenoid is on the blink. It could also be dripping slowly like a faucet and clogging like a stalagmite the ice maker fill nozzle. The only other thing in the ice box that controls that water valve is the ice maker itself. if the water valve is ok then the ice maker ain't getting the power to that water valve solenoid.

Ice maker doesn't work. It slowly died.

Take note how full the ice tray gets with water after it has dispenced. If water is low, defrost freezer and it will allow water in pipr to also thaw out. Fairly common problem. If water is full that is another problem. Normally to save a lot of time, the unit is replaced.

Whirlpool side by side GS5SHAXN. Ice maker slowly died.

Hi agcruiser;
Have your change your water filter lately?
If not try that, as it may be starting to block up a little.
Another problem could be the water inlet valve(Ice Side) situated at bottom of fridge, that could be starting to wear (Can interchange with water side inlet valve). Yes there are 2- 1 for ice and 1 for water
The Whirlpools Ice Michine set up is very easy, and runs by a mechanical system, they can be tested (Use a qualified tech).
Cheers hope this helps

Ice maker quit working

For starters, the freezer temp must be a least 14 degrees or colder. Ice maker locks out above 14 degrees.
So.
1. The water valve on the bottom back of the fridge has failed (common problem).
2. Water supply from source to the water valve isn't supplying water or enough water pressure (common problem).
3. Fill tube that fills the back of the ice maker is iced up. If thats the case, you will need to defost it slowly USING NO HEAT. Heat will melt components and leave you with a real mess. If this is the case, you'll still have to replace the water valve because it is leaking slowly during the of cycle.
4. The ice maker failed. You can test to see if it will cycle, by pouring water into the cavity, and checking it in a few hours to see if it dumps. Be aware there is a switch in the ice maker which tells the water valve to fill. If that's the problem, you'll still need to replace the ice maker and installing a new valve at the same time is the smart way to go.

Won't make ice

Have you changed your water filter lately. On many side by sides there are built in water filters that will slowly stop making ice and giving water because the filter is in need of changing...if this is not the problem write back and I will walk you through the other possibilities...

1998 Ford Escort Timing Belt Disapearing?

Sounds like the metal collar that fits between the cam gear & the belt was left out.Good luck,
ChevRev P.S. This should be a round metal collar with a curve towards the cam gear to keep the belt from riding towards the cam gear .Without it the belt will slowly shred as it makes contact with the cam gear.Hope this helps you.

Kitchenaid fridge (ksrw25crss02)icemaker slowly stopped working, decreasing in the amount of ice it made until finally no ice at all. also, water trickles from water dispencer.

hi kev215,
welcome to fixya.com.

Huuum at your service.

You said, the ice maker slowly stopped working, decreasing in the amount of ice it made until finally no ice at all. also, water trickles from water dispenser.

The first thing I would ask is when did you last change your water filter in the fridge?
Or if it's an older fridge with an inline filter behind the fridge!
check the shut off valve for the water line that leads to you ice maker. under the sink or in the basement or where ever the line comes from. I've seen where someone turned the valve a little clockwise unbeknown to the home owner and stopped or slowed the water flow.

The water line should be checked too, for any kinking that may be running behind the fridge or some unseen place!

How old is the fridge??

Let me know,
Thank you Huuum

Ice cube maker

IF NO WATER IN ICE MAKER, CHECK FOR RESTRICTION IN FILL TUBE SUCH AS FROZEN OFF WITH ICE. REMOVE FILL TUBE AND RUN HOT WATER OVER IT TO MELT ICE IN TUBE.
WATCH FOR WATER COMING SLOWLY OUT PLASTIC FILL LINE ATTACHED TO TUBE ON BACK OF REFRIGERATOR.
IF WATER SLOWLY DRIPS OUT OF FILL LINE, REPLACE FILL VALVE( LOCATED WHERE HOUSE WATER LINE ATTACHES TO REFRIGERATOR.

IF ICE MAKER HAS WATER/ICE IN IT, PULL FRONT COVER OFF ICE MAKER TO ACCESS CONTROL HEAD. INSPECT LARGE WHITE GEAR ON FRONT OF CONTROL. IF THE RETAINING TAB IN THE CENTER IS BROKEN, REPLACE MODULE OR ENTIRE ICE MAKER. THERE SHOULD BE TWO
RETAINING TABS HOLDING THE GEAR IN PLACE.

THE FREEZER TEMP NEEDS TO BE A MINIMUM OF 10 DEGREES FOR THE ICE MAKER TO CYCLE. IF THE FREEZER TEMP IS NOT COLD ENOUGH WE WILL NEED TO FIND OUT WHY.
