Dryer door pops open making dryer shut off. How do I repair, please?

    • Okay, so my previous question wasn't exactly correct. My dryer is shutting off after only a few minutes - and THEN the door pops open. It is an electric dryer, Whirpool Ultimate Care II (ten years old). I would really like to save it versus buying a new one if at all possible. Thanks!

Hi, there sould be a two piece door catch. One piece on the door and another on the front panel that the door closes to. Look at the piece on the door. You will probably find it is bad. You can buy just that piece and change it. I hope this helps. If I can assist you further please let me know.
