Question about Lexmark X6170 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Hi, I am having problems scanning it will not scan and I have tried several times, I even turned off the system. Help

    What is the Operating system on your PC?

    Are you able to print from the PC?

    What do you see on the AIO display when you select "Scan" at the AIO op panel?

It sounds like the scan driver is malfunctioning. Reconnect both ends of the USB cable. If that does not work, uninstall all of the Lexmark software from your computer and reinstall.

If you are an advanced user, you could first try just removing the Lexmark printer and scanner from the Windows Device Manager.

Hi -- A couple of ideas.

My scanner never works if computer is in hibernate mode so make sure computer is fully on and not in any sort of standby mode.

If you upgraded your operating system since you first did it, try uninstalling the printer and the software and then reinstall the Epson software and printer in the order in your get started guide

For the USB problem, make sure it is the Epson USB cord and shut down your system and then turn it on with this cord attached.

if it is a MAC, do not use OS X Classic mode

If none of those work, it is time to call in the pros and call Epson

Your PC has been effected with spyware.You can try using a spyware software like webroot 2008 to remove this.

This is the only solution to fix this thing.

Hi

You don't mention which Operating System you have but you should scan for malware and virus. If you are infected that would explain why the drive keeps filling up and maybe even why your programs won't uninstall or updates complete. Update your AV and boot to safe mode to run the scan or do an online scan if you can, there are few good online scans but one which springs to mind is http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/. Also do a scan with free edition of MBAM http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

Once you have done scans and removed any infection you might have clear your temp files using either Disk Clean-up from All Programs > Accessories > System Tools or a 3rd party disk cleaner if you have one (don't use any registry cleaners). Make sure you clear at least Temporary Files, Downloaded Program Files, Temporary Internet Files and Recycle Bin.

After doing that turn your system restore off for your C:\ drive then turn it back on again.

Check to see if your updates will install now.

Check to make sure you have the correct driver for your operating syytem; are you running Windows 7 (32-bit) or Windows (64-bit)?

Go to Start > Device and Printers > System Check under System type to confirm your operating system.

If you do not have the correct driver you can download from here. Make sure you also download the three (3) Utility- Diagnostic Tools. These may be able to help resolve your problem if you do not already have them.

Please note that HP has posted several alerts for this products concerning Windows 7. You should review; Resolving HP Solution Center Scan and Product Status Issues After Upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7 and Scanned Files Disappear after Scanning with HP Solution Center

If you feel you have the correct driver properly installed try running the Scan Diagnostic Tool. If you are unsure about the driver I would start there with an uninstall of the current driver and download of an updated driver for the installed operating system.

If this does not resolve problems work through the advice provided in the on-line resources linked above.

Several times now I have started my LeSabre and it has stalled about 1 second after I started it. It will continue to do the same thing for several tries, then all of the sudden it starts and runs perfect....


the first thing to do is have the computer scanned for codes,you may have abad fuelpump or bad crank sensor or even a bad module,by having the computer scanned it will give you codes to help in diagnosing the problem, go to an autozone they will scan it for free, start there.good luck.

Scan settings are gone! i can't scan and print the way it used to.


I don't know what would necessarily cause this, other than some corrupted system files on your PC perhaps. It couldn't hurt to upgrade your OS to SP3, which is a huge package, that can help restore your system if some system files have become corrupted over the years.
I've come across a several network problems on systems, that left me scratching my head, and Installing the latest SP has fixed several of them.
Just my 2 cents.

Nah i didnt get into any trouble,, feel free to use us anytime!!! I'm happy the scanner worked if you need any more help you know how to find us..Next time that happens with the scanner try unplugging it restart the system and then plug it back in.. :)
