The above link is a powerful, free tool for removing malware of all kinds, you just have to be familiar with what programs load with your computer. Click the 'download' button on the above website to begin downloading the software. It will be saved as a zip file, simply open it and launch the 'reanimator.exe' file within to start the program.

Click 'scan for viruses' then click 'make scan now' to begin. It will collect information about your computer and the programs that start with it. Click 'fix problems' when this finishes. You must CAREFULLY go through the list of items. Select 'I'm not sure, Need help' if you need information on the items. You will select 'false positive' for most of them, as it will ask you about every program that loads with your computer, so DO NOT click 'get it out' on everything that comes up, otherwise your computer will not load properly. ONLY select 'get it out' if you know that the item is a virus, or the 'I'm not sure, Need help' option states that it is 100% bad.

Cant format my son

VIRUS OR TROJAN INFECTIONS:

Virus or trojans can run some process that keeps running in background. This not only harms the computer, but also prevents the pen drive from formatting as it shows that the drive is in use. Remove and re-insert thepen drive, don't double click on drive and cancel autorun operations if it starts automatically. Run a virus scan on pen drive, this will help fix the issue. Now format the pen drive.

Always take precautions while using pen drives on other computers. See the some of our posts below on protecting your pen drive from viruses:

CORRUPTED FLASH CHIPS ON PEN DRIVE:

If the pen drive is not detected at all, or shows a less capacity, then there are high chances that its a chip corruption. Flash chips are the actual hardware components that save the data. A physical or electrical or electromagnetic damage to these chips make the pen drive faulty. This can happen because of voltage fluctuations and faulty USB ports. In such case, get the flash drive replaced if its under warranty as it can not be fixed otherwise.

FAKE PEN DRIVES:

Sounds a bit un-believable but true. There are a lot of pen drives in the market which are of very cheap quality which are fake copies of some known brands. Beware of such pen-drives. Always purchase pen-drives or memory-cards from a reliable source with bill and warranty to avoid any mess later.

What are the viruses

A computer virus is a software program, script, or macro designed to infect, destroy, modify, or cause other problems with your computer or software programs. The user may protect him by using an anti-virus protection program. The anti-virus protection program designed to detect, protect, and clean any computer viruses. This is the most basic way to define a computer virus. There are tens of thousands of viruses out there with many more created on a daily basis. The protection program needs to updating on a constant basis. The computer needs updated with its running system, email and files in order to keep a completely safe PC. The normal use of any computer still puts the system at risk of being compromised by hackers unless you provide an anti-virus program for your protection along with a personal firewall.

hope this helps

Where you using any virus protection software? If not, you probably caught rogue virus software. This stuff first infects the PC and then demands payment to release and protect it. It's a scam virus. If you were using a virus protection program contact the software vendor for further help.

I tried to instal greeting cards 123.Macafee didn't let me do it.Now I've lost everything.I can't even get my e mail. What did i do? How do I restore it to the original settings?

You have restore points automatically set on your computer. You need to find where the last restore point is and restore to that point. Then when you try to reload the greeting cards again do when you are off line and turn your virus protection off and when you are done loading greeting card program turn virus protection back on. I recommend getting rid of Macafee it is junk and you are paying way too much for it. You can go on line to cnet.com and get free virus protection from AVG and it will not mess up your computer when you are trying to down load new software. The nice thing is it is free.

Best virus/spyware protection

be careful when using symantec, it is a real resource hog! It does a good job, but is also expensive and costs annually to use. I use all the same items as GregL except i have had a lot of problems with SP3 :/ then again i normally install it on a working machine, and it messes somthing up. On a fresh install of windows XP it should do fine (SP3 that is)
