Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
It started over a week. At first you could open it, program the time, then start it. The timer would start but then no action from the microwave except the internal light. You would have to push firmly on the door then it would start. A week later, now it has no power even though it is plugged in. It's a GE model number je 1640wa 002 or je164owa 002
Sounds very much like the magnetron is at the end of its life , if everything else on the oven is working but you don't get that familiar hum as the magnetron kicks in and I am afraid they can cost as much as a new oven especially with the repair cost , time to go to the store and get a new one it will probably be cheaper ...
