Can't download music from Napster to YH-920

I thought I got a good deal off e-bay for a Samsung Napster YH-920. I downloaded the software that came with it (I was immediately re-directed to the Napster web site to down load the latest version of Napster). I then down loaded some music from my hard drive to Napster and tried to download onto the Napster YH-920. It didn't work! I then began the trouble shooting process. I couldn't find where the YH-920 was listed as a compatible device. Is it? Do I have a problem or a BIG problem? Please advise - Regards -Richard Yale

I routinely use Rhapsody to manage "my" music. Will that work as well or do I have to import all my tracks to Microsoft Media Player?

  • ryale May 14, 2009

I don't profess to be a computer whiz, please tell me how to use the sync feature in Rhapsody - where is it?

  • ryale May 14, 2009

Well, I moved the music I wanted to the Media Player, made a playlist and clicked on the "sync" button with great expectations. Nothing happened, I expected the screen on the YH-920 to change from "USB Connected" to now transferring or downloading x number of tracks or something like that. Do you suspect I bought a broke YH-920?

Satchi2k2 - You provided the identical response first submitted by TabithaM on 02 AUG 06. It doesn't work for me. Enough already!

I fixed my music tranfer problem by dumb luck. I was provided a solution by one responder yesterday that was "copied" from a 02 AUG 06 solution that didn't work. I was also informed that I couldn"t use Rhapsody to transfer music to the YH-920 due to pending "sync rights" litigation. To make this work, I reloaded the drivers and utilities software that came with the YH-920 and proceeded to successfully transfer over 1500 tracts of music. I appreciate those who responded, particularly MACHADOJR_FE.

Move all the files to the windows media player. So the songs are listed in the media player. Then connect the device and use the sync option in the media player. There may also be a sync option in napster but I think the windows media player would work better.

rhapsody will work just use the sync option

  • machadojr_fe May 14, 2009

I actually just found an article about rhapsody on this. It looks like you are going to have to use media player as the syncing rights are being disputed on rhapsody music.

I have those too and the Napster thing is annoying, but you can use it or realplayer to transfer music you already own to the Samsung. We upload our CDs in mp3 format and then transfer them. If you buy from Napster, you have to keep subscribing to 'keep' them. But you should be able to upload music you already own, through realplayer or napster. Don't just use Windows Epxlorer to move files over, that doesn't work. (You can store files on the Samsung's hard drive that way, as an archive, but you can't play them.)
