If you have the hub and brake apart it is too difficult to explain how to do this just with words.Try www.sheldonbrown.com. There used to be an article on that site that explained how with pictures I think. Sorry I can't be more help.

Assemble rear axle for a bycle

There are several different varieties of rear coaster brake hubs. The most common is a "Shimano". The easiest way to tell you how to reassemble is by referring you to either Utube, put "shimano coaster brake in search box or go to SheltonBrown.com. Again enter the shimano in the search.

I have a 20" inch girls kent trouble bike. How do I take the rear wheel off?

remove the coaster brake lever bolt. This is small bolt that holds the coaster brake lever to the left side chain stay. There will probably be a strap wrapped around the chain stay with bolt going through the strap and the lever. This usually requires a 10mm wrench (sometimes it is 8mm) for the nut and a Phillips or flat head screw driver (some times it's another 10mm bolt head).
The axle nuts are usually 15mm nuts. Loosen these (they usually don't need to be removed all the way) and push the wheel forward to put some slack in the chain. Lift the chain off the rear cog and you will be able to pull the wheel out of the drop outs.
To install, slide the wheel into the dropouts, put the chain back on the cog, pull back on the wheel and tighten the nuts finger tight. Reinstall the bolt through the coaster brake lever and then tighten the axle nuts, pull back on the wheel while tightening the nuts so the chain is tight. Then tighten up the coaster brake lever bolt. (if you tighten the axle nuts first, you won't be able to move the coaster brake lever into place to get the bolt in)

How do you convert hand brakes to coaster brakes?

Hi Dan Sink
You will have to either replace the whole wheel with one that comes with a coaster brake or replace the center (drive) assemby and have the wheel re-spoked.

When coasting the pedals keep moving so you have to continue to pedal and when peddling backwards the bike goes backwards, how do I stop this?

I assume that this bike normally has a coaster brake. If so, your coaster brake mechanism (inside the hub of the drive wheel) is jammed or broken. You will have to disasssemble the wheel hub. This bike might have a coaster brake on both rear wheels or maybe just one side. Lift both rear wheels off the ground and turn them independently to determine which side the problem is on.

Coaster brake adjustment

These aren't really adjustable, but the parts that are wearing out are replaceable, and it involves disassembling the rear hub. Here is a link to a VERY thorough how-to guide, but this just covers one type of coaster brake. There are a couple of different styles, and if you have one of the older ones you can pretty much figure it out by taking it apart.

Here's the link--

Removal of rear wheel with internal geared 3-speed and coaster brake hub

Find the joiner link on the chain, remove the retainer clip followed by the link. Remove the chain. Remove the bolt holding the brake arm to the frame. Loosen the axle bolts on the wheel enough to be able to slide the rear wheel out of its slots on the frame.

Is there a web site or other material i can get on the cranbrook beach cruiser what i need is a detailed explantion on removing and installing the rear hub with a coaster brake assembly

Yes, http://www.huffy.com/ is their website.

Should not be all that difficult but you will need a few different wrenches. One for the wheels axle nuts and one for the coaster brake assembly. All coaster brakes work the same, so any coaster brake manual will work. Your local shop can also show you how to remove and install the wheel.

How to assemble back tire barrens and other parts pic of how inside parts go 20 inch huffy

I'm guessing this bike has a rear coaster brake. I really don't suggest overhauling a coaster brake hub and it is unlikely a diagram for your huffy exist but here is a link to a general coaster brake hub diagram. It should be very similar to what you are working on.
