For me some of applications what You have installed, corrupt windows system libraries, that is why windows is hanging/crashing while trying to open such us applications, If You have an original Install Disk, try with them, and if You still need them programs installed do it one by one doing clean restart of pc before You will install another one then You will find out witch one is causing problems for You. Hope You will solve it.
Usually when you purchase a new PC from the store, MS OFFICE will give you a 30 or 60 day trial of their software...if your trial period ends, it will no longer allow you to use the software unless you buy an activation key. I can suggest a free alternative to MS office. This software opens MS Office documents and has pretty much every capability that MS has too. For example, at work someone sends you an Excel document filled with info...you can still open that using OPEN OFFICE Calc.
In Open Office...ms word is "Writer", ms excel is "Calc", ms powerpoint is "Impress"...same concept but fully compatible.
Did you try adding the printer using Administrator privs? Just go to the Control Panel > Printers > Run As Administrator > Add Printer. This process gave me access to the network printer. Unfortunately, MS Word will not work at all if the network printer is setup as the default and not added by the administrator.
open office files dont work for ms word files. they are working in the same flatform but you cant open the file using the prescribed format. You need to check your cd installer. The setup icon should be the one to run in installing your MS Office 2007. Maybe its true that your installer cd was corrupted. try to secure a new one by purchasing a licensed one but if you like free just look for any computer technician in your area they have it if you're friends they will give it for free.I have an installer just email me email@example.com.
From the look of the things I can guess two things.
1. The MS office 2007 that you are using currently is a Trial Version and it has expired OR
2. The Document you are trying to open is protected.
If it is the first case, please purchase the software to work on it or you could download from among the lots of freewares around the internet which does the basic work that MS Office does.
If it is the second case, kindly go to the Review Tab of the Ribbon. Click the Protect Document icon (right end of the Ribbon) & click on Restrict Editing & Formatting. At the bottom of the pane click the Stop Protection button (If there is no password you will be allowed to revise the document. If prompted for a password and you do not know what it is, you cannot make changes anywhere in the file.
