Caught Amazon running a promo on wireless mice, got lucky. Has anyone tried - Zon Deal Locator (google it, forgot the url) There is a yellow box that gives discount promo codes for any product on Amazon. Couldn't believe that I got to choose my own discount. Once I saw the price, I jumped right on it. Just thought I'd share.

This is sort of general but it just may help.
Make sure your batteries are in correctly.
Make sure the transmitter dongle is in the USB.
Look on the transmitter and the mouse and keyboard
itself (bottom) for a little tiny button that says connect
or reconnect. Move the mouse about six inches away from
the transmitter and press both the transmitter and the mouse.
That should reestablish the signal twixt the two.(or three KB)

    Thanks, whitebirch.

I had this Microsoft wireless mouse for a year or more. Never worked.

I use a wired optical mouse which now has become erratic...

I found your suggestion to have the dongle and mouse within six inches of each other and depress the tiny little connect buttons on both. It worked instantly.

    Thanks again, very much.

My Targus mouse stopped working when I started up my laptop (running Vista) in the morning. The solution for me was to pull out the mouse connector that is in the USB port, put it back in, and then use a pen to push on the "connect" button on the bottom of the mouse. Problem solved. It has happened three times when I've started my laptop in the morning and each time this fixes the problem.

Are there other wireless devices nearby that could be interfering with the signal? Is there a button on the USB dongle and the mouse that can be pressed so the two receivers can locate each other?

Replaced Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 doesn't work

I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.

I don't think the wenger swiss spyder wireless mouse is compatable with the Microsoft wireless receiver. I think you will have to use the spyder reciever for the mouse and the Microsoft receiver for the keyboard.

Logitech wireless mouse not working...

Have you tried training it with the buttons that are on the receiver and the mouse?
You may have already tried that, but I had the same problems with mine.
Also a new heavy duty alkaline battery would help, although the new one should have a good battery.
You commented that you have 2 USB ports.
You may want to switch ports.
Let me know what you have done and if one of the above works.
I want to help you get this going

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

are both keyboard and mouse communicating with a single wireless devices, or each has it's own? sometime you need to sync the signal to the wireless device. but do this first... ask your sister if the mouse was working before she gave it to you, there is a possibility that the mouse is broken/no working. if it's an optical mouse, the mouse that has lights sensor, make sure it lights up...

HP 3 button wireless optical mouse

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
