2. the pairing steps are:

I have a dell inspiron1300 laptop pc.This problem has just developed. When I turn on it won't connect to the internet(wireless connection) until I click ''repair'' on the small connection icon at the bottom...

This can happen when both the wireless router and the laptop are powered up together. The laptop boots up before the wireless router can issue the laptop with an IP address. When you click Repair the LAN card requests a new IP address from the router and then the laptop can connect to the Internet.

I get this problem sometimes and then I have to click Repair.

Try leaving the wireless router powered up or power up the wireless router first. I suggest rebooting the wireless router approx. once a week, the wireless router will then be issued with a new IP address from your ISP, this makes it difficult for hackers to hack into your wireless router/network.

Assuming that the wireless driver is enabled and working, if not reinstall the wireless card driver. Are all the lights on the router are on, if not power down the wireless router, wait for 30 secs and power up the wireless router. Sometimes when you boot up the wireless card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. If you see the wireless icon on the Task Bar with a red X against it, just right click on the icon and click on Repair. This will repair the connection and get the wireless router to issue the wireless card with a new IP address. If you don't have an icon on the Task Bar go to Control Panel - Network Connection and right click on the wireless Network connection and click on Repair.

Dell Truemobile 1300 will not connect

You have to reconnect to the wireless network you have been using. In the lower right corner of the desktop there should be an icon that looks like a computer screen with 3 or 4 wavy lines above it. Right click on this, select "view available wireless networks", highlight the one you want to connect to, and click connect. You might have to have a security code to get into it.

repair the connection by right clicking the wireless connection and choosing Repair. if that doesn't work then you should try to disable and then re-enable the connection. try adding the IP address of router to you list of DNS servers for the wireless connection.
