I have a KP26MIXWH mixer that when I turn it on at it's lowest speed it immediately runs up to it's highest speed and then stops. None of the other settings will get the motor to turn althoug

On the professional 600 model there is a speed control board (Computer board) that is probably the culprit. Easy fix cost $30-$35.00 dollars for the part plus shipping. if you are under warranty then Kitchenaid will fix. If not you can do it quickly. Go to kitchenaid site look for support tab on right top side of window and click it, look for get user guides and manuals in the next window, click it, enter on the right side of the next page the model number and who you are (consumer), then you will be taken to another page that has the manuals listed on the left the upper manual is for user guide the lower manual is for parts list. Down load the parts guide / list so that you can find your particular speed board and it will show you how to disassemble and replace. It really is an easy fix. Not messy or complicated, just take your time and lay your parts out in a manner that will make YOU remember how they go back in. There are no other computer boards in the mixer so you will have no problem recognizing it. call Kitchenaid customer service and ask where the nearest service center is, if you live close by take your part number to the center and you can probably get it at the parts desk (fast parts, more expensive than internet, no shipping costs) Please let us know if this helps or if you need more help, that's why we're here.

KitchenAid KSM90 mixer wont turn on, already replaced phase board

Did you play with the Brushes??? If you did you have to make sure that they went back in the correct way or they won't be touching the armature and the mixer will not operate untill the brushes touch the armature. If you did nit take the brushes out at all. then your problem is the flag connectors are not in the correct terminals. 9_15_2012_6_02_40_am.jpg
the other problem is the possibility that when you re-installed the speed board that you now have to tune the mixer by adjusting the screws on the top of the speed board.

Dough hook will not come off

I had the same problem too. There should be maybe 1/4" of loose vertical play of the dough hook (or similar attachment) on the agitator shaft. The hook locks in place rotationally on the shaft until it is pushed up. Before you try to turn the dough hook backwards in an attempt to remove it, push it upwards and hold it up, then rotate.

My mixer would only stay on fastest speed now it won't go on at all. Anybody know what it could be and if it can be fixed?

Hi Debbie, W/D here.
You can certainly repair this mixer yourself. You will need an exploded diagram, and will need to tear it down to locate and replace the damaged part(s). In your mixer, there are two parts that sound suspect. They are the control plate and the control board, numbered #36 and #39 in the diagram (link) that follows. The link that I'm directing you to is very user friendly; you can toggle back and forth between the various drawings and see everything that goes into making a mixer. It's not very complicated to work on. You can use the diagrams as a guide to getting to the parts. Here are a few things to consider, if this is something unfamiliar to you: 1. Print the schematics, and make notes on the schematics as you go. 2. Use a sharpie to mark terminals as to the color of the wires connecting to each. Pictures and sketches are even better, making re-assembly a snap. A cell phone camera may be good enough. You can also mark wires by using painter's tape and a sharpie, showing what connects to where. I generally use all of the above, and it serves me well. The reason to tear it down to the parts mentioned is that there are several versions of each part in the diagram. There is a picture of each part in the parts list, so you will be able to readily identify your part. Also, you may be able to visually determine which part is defective. Since each part runs in the $30 range, you can save some money if you can see that one part shows signs of damage, and the other doesn't. If you can't determine which one it is, replace both. Keep all of the parts that you remove together.
Make sure that the power is OFF before making any attempt to repair/tear down/re-assemble the mixer.
Here's the link. Best regards and good luck, --W/D--

Top part of mixer is loose. how to tighten?

I had the same problem.. not the top plate, but the whole head was wobbly. I fixed it by removing the top plate, then locating the three screws that hold the top to the base. These screws are under the motor. I had to remove the motor, but this also required taking the transmission cover off. Sounds harder than it really is. Once I tightened those three screws, the play went away.

My KitchenAid tilt head lock keeps coming loose while beating small amount of dough allowing the head to wobble gradually bad? This is the second mixer with same problem! I've heard some people talking...

In my case the lock was not engaging fully because the internal mechanism was bent too short. I'm not sure if this happened over time or if it is just a manufacturing defect. If your mixer still has some up-and-down play to it when the lock is engaged, then you might have the same problem as me

To fix it, search this site and others for instructions on how to remove the motor cover. I found this video useful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeCiivPt7hk

With the cover removed you have access to the locking mechanism. In my case, the latch is connected to the locking lever via a bent S-hook. The hook was just slightly too short which kept the latch from engaging completely. If you remove the two screws holding the hook in place and that allows the lock to close completely, then you have the same problem as me. (You'll feel the difference immediately. When fully locked, there is practically no wobble in the mixer head.)

I lengthened the hook by placing it against a flat surface and hammering the bend out a bit.

Rewind and fast forward

Put the cd in when it loads and display the disc time, you can then spin the round wheels forward or backwards to the place on the song that you're playing, this only work when the song is paused or stopped. If the disc is playing the wheels are only used to slow down or speed up the song.
