Verizon v325i does not ring with incoming calls

I have a Motorola v325i on a Verizon network. It does not ring when called.  The vibe function works fine and calls are received correctly.  This is also a problem in the settings menu, as none of the ring tones will ring there either.  The phone does make noise when turned on and keys/buttons make beeps when operated.  I have done the master reset thing, did a "hard reset" (removed battery for <5 minutes) and made sure the phone was updated with the most recent software.

I believe this is a software problem because the startup/shutdown sounds play and the keys make noise, but I don't know how to reinstall the firmware or otherwise reset the phone so it starts ringing. Any ideas?
