I tried your advice, eraser on the contacts, still no go. No lights and no adjustments possible.I even tried erasing the contacts on the deck. Chewed up the eraser pretty good. I blew off the eraser crumbs, should I leave the eraser crumbs on the contacts?, or do you have another suggestion?

Last night I tried the stereo and it did not work. This morning however it is now working and continues to work just fine. If it does it again I will try your other suggestions and see how that works. Your probably right about the cost of a repair shop. I can buy the same unit from for 109 dollars. Thank you for your help. I am as satisfied as can be with your advice. Well worth the $10 I spent. Thank you again. tsamiam.

The faceplate connection is not making contact. Take an eraser and rub the contacts on the faceplate so it makes good contact.

no the eraser debris should be brushed away after cleaning.

if there are spring-type contacts on the radio - bend each one out slightly to make contact with the faceplate.

If the connectors are working good - the problem most likely is in the ribbon cable behind the connectors inside the radio itself.

It is a common problem with pioneer to have this piece broken if the faceplate is not installed properly and forced in place.

i can only suggest tapping on the top of the radio to try and establish contact.

professional repair will be required - however it may exceed the cost of a new radio.

If it was a new purchase - it should be under warranty.

    Thanks for using FixYa!

Amp error message on Pioneer DEH-15UB. Vehicle was jump started twice would this cause this problem? The receiver is not connected to an external amp. The radio/cd player will work for about two minutes...

I just had an "amp error" message display on my Pioneer DEH-15UB and it quit playing. No sound at all. It happened while I was driving my Jeep. When I got home I removed the passenger side speaker from the sound bar and found the previous owner had used a wood screw to hold the wire to the speaker. That screw came into contact with the metal roll bar and caused the error. When I installed ends on the wires the error message cleared itself and now works fine

How to reset my DEH-P5000UB, because my display turned off, weird

Re:"everyother light turns on the faceplate but the display is off"

That means that the unit is either faulty, or one of the two powered lines required had not been connected.

The unit is reset by simply disconnecting the connector at the back.

This will not help in fixing the problem.

Ensure that unit is wired properly. Use a voltmeter to test wiring.

Here installation manual with proper wiring.

Here also the owner manual.

I was playing some music from a kignston pendrive when the music stoped and appear a error 10! CD and USB stop working until unplug the battery.

This sounds like a corrupted file or bad device that caused a conflict. Try a different device, if the problem persist then you need to re-install the drivers for the usb and cd drive or at least update them.
