Question about Aiwa NSX-A777 Shelf System
I have an Aiwa cx-na777 which works great except for the volume control knob. No matter what you do, it turns the volume up. At times, if you go real slow to the left, it will decrease in volume, but for the most part the volume only increases with any turn of the dial. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Thank you!

SOURCE: volume knob
In other words the lever that the front knob is attached to is broken or the microswitch is bad or broken.. if your not a tech please take the unit in to a shop as there are no user serviceable parts inside these units. Good Luck

The "volume control" on your Aiwa is in fact what is called an "encoder". These can fail. They work in concert with the microprocessor to control the electronic volume control IC. Yes this part can be replaced. Try calling Sony with your model number and request the part number for the volume encoder. They should be able to help.
