Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

"Firmware Problem"? I've had my Creative Zen Vision: M (30GB) for just over 10 months now - I received it as a Christmas gift last year. It's frozen a number of times on some of my tracks, but I've always had no problem rebooting it before. (A couple of months ago it couldn't read any of my files, but a firmware upgrade fixed that.)Today, while rewinding on a track, it froze on me. After I rebooted it, about 2/5 into the rebuilding process it pauses, restarts the rebuilding process, gets 2/5 into it again and then tells me I have a "Firmware Problem". I headed to the recovery screen, upgraded the firmware (I'd been using 1.51 before), and waited as it restarted itself. The same screen comes up.I went again and did clean up, tried to reinstall the firmware to make sure that it had installed properly (it had). The "Firmware Problem" screen comes up every time.I've tried everything short of formatting it - because it's near-filled up with video files that I don't have on my laptop (nor any way to get them again) anymore, I'd like to hold on to them. Is there any way I can get my Zen to work again without having to format?

Re: "Firmware Problem"?

Thanks, but that doesn't work, my computer can see the device but won't open it in expolorer mode!

Re: "Firmware Problem"?

I would simply connect the player to the computer, use windows explorer to move files to laptop or external drive, then reformat and simply re-transfer the files back from the laptop.

My zen freezes regularly and needs rebooting

It's from the firmware, I've had the same problem and I've gotten the white screen of death. Any suggestions? The power light turns blue but the screen is either black or white, it won't turn off unless I click the reset and then won't turn on until 10+ tries of doing the hold down power button, click reset while plugged in PC thing.

Creative zen vision :m 30gb wont turn on

if you don't have the kind of charger that goes directly into the dock connector, the zen vision needs a 5V charger ( it happens to be compatible with the PSP charger). if you just plug it into a usb cord it will not charger. you may also need the little white adapter piece the goes into the dock connector. i know only one place that sells older creative zen accessories and repairs creative zen visions . if you have all of that: i assume you pressed the little reset button on the bottom, it may just be frozen? if that doesn't work and you are sure you're charging it right, your logic board is dead.

Problem transferring MP3s to Zen Vision 30GB

I have a Zen Vision M 30G, and this is what worked for me.(Widows XP home Edition. First you're going to want to transfer all your files back to your PC to back them up. I've found that even though you can't transfer from your PC to Zen, you can transfer from Zen to PC. Connect your player, and after your Pc recognizes it go to My Computer>click on your player, it should show up as "storage media.">then you right click on it, then select "reformat." A warning should pop notifing that you will lose all you data. Click yes, It should take less than a minute to complete. So essentially you have just wiped your Mp3 player's hard drive clean. Now transfer all your backed up files back to your player.

Creative Zen Touch firmware problem

This means both systems contain a bug, or cookie. If the firmware you accessed isn't applying itself to the device, this means the system itself has been corrupted. Double check with your system configuration properties on each device, and tell me whats going on from there.

Don't panic!
