Oh boy do have a problem

I am running Windows Vista, first found out I cannot access my administator account. I only had 1 account and that was suppose to be an admin. account. Now it won't let me go to device manager. All hard drive unaccessible. so i can't download any repairs.
Contacted Norton took my money and ran. Can't help me. They can't get administrative on my computer through their rescue team.
I don't know why I paid them for the software or paid them to tell me i can't help you. ******!!!!
Well I've tried everything, when i try to run comand prompt as admin. access denied. try to download repairs from micro. access denied.

First thing, sorry about the luck so far, second do you have a second PC with a CD/DVD burner installed. If so we can "repair" the user account, however this may not solve the problem as it sounds like the SIDs on the HDD may be corrupted.

Let me know and we'll procede accordingly

First off,The admin account in vista is hidden,It has to be enabled before it shows up at all.
Second The problem is with the permission on your computer.(You may have a virus that changed them)

Also,Can you boot into safe mode? (this is done by tapping the F8 key while booting)

Here are 2 methods. The first is for individual files or drive, the second is to reset all permissions back to default.

    First method

    1. Right-click the file and select Properties.

    2. Click on the Security tab.

    3. Click Advanced in the lower right.

    4. In the Advanced Security Settings window that pops up, click on the Owner tab.

    5. Click Edit.

    6. Click Other users or groups.

    7. Click Advanced in the lower left corner.

    8. Click Find Now.

    9. Scroll through the results and double-click on your current user account.

    10. Click OK to all of the remaining windows except the first Properties window.

    11. Select your user account from the list up top and click Edit.

    12. Select your user account from the list up top again and then in the pane below, check Full control under Allow, or as much control as you need.

    13. You’ll get a security warning, click Yes.

    Second method

    1. Click Start and type mmc.
    2. A blank MMC console appears. Click the File menu, and then click Add/Remote Snap-In.
    3. From the Add Or Remove Snap-Ins dialog, double-click Security Templates. Click OK.
    4. Right-click Security Templates and then click New Template Search Path.
    5. In the Browse For Folder dialog, expand your user folder, Documents, Windows Vista Security Guide, GPOAccelerator Tool, and then select Security Templates (the Windows Vista Security Guide installs the templates to “C:\Users\Documents\Windows Vista Security Guide\GPOAccelerator Tool\Security Templates\”). Click OK.

I need to reset administator pass word for windows vista but i cant down load anything cus i have to be in the administator mod

There are a lot of tools and utilities that can be downloaded and used to recover, reset, retrieve or reveal existing password. These password reset or retrieval utilities, free or paid, are usually a Linux boot disk or CD that able to comes with NT file system (NTFS) drivers and software that will read the registry
and rewrite the password hashes, or can brute force crack the password for any user account including the Administrators. The advantage is that there is no fear of leaking your password to outsiders, while the process requires physical access to the console and a floppy or CD drive, depending on which tool you choose. And it’s not easy, although it always work!
Offline NT Password & Registry Editor – Available as bootdisk or bootable CD, Offline NT Password and Registry Editor works to change or reset password of any users on Windows NT 3.51, NT 4, Windows 2000,Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Vindows Vista 32 and 64 bit. It can also detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled user accounts.

Forgot password on acer aspire 3680 windows vista basic

I've never had an acer ... but if you forgot the windows password, you're frozen. you need to run the computer in safe mode, some computers then don't requier a password. and in safe mode you can also access it via administator account, often without password, if with, someone has it, probably the person that installed the os for you. the administrator account let's you play with the passwords a lot more that your own account does.
to run in safe mode, you need restart and watch for any messages on black screen like "press F1 for bios", gist watch for something about selecting the startup mode and press the button listed. if you have quiet boot - a picture instead of most of the black screens and writings, pres escape during it to remove it. you should have the key instructions somewhere.
everything goes pretty quickly, so you might need to repeat things a bit to gett everything done fast enough.
when in safe mode, reset the vista password like usually - by the accounts manager or whatever vista has (I'm sticking to XP).

Im running winds vista and the two admin accnt have been deleted by my son now all i can get is winds cannot access the specified device path or file you may not have the appropriate permissions to access...

Hi there. You will probably need to set another one up. You will need to boot your system up in Safe Mode.

To do this, turn the system on and keep pressing the F8 key. This will bring you to the Advanced Settings menu. Choose Safe Mode. When the welcome screen loads, choose Administrator, and press enter. Now all you should need to do is to set up a new admin account from the Control Panel.

If this doesn't work. Go back into Safe Mode and use System Restore to take it back to an earlier state before the accounts were deleted. This can be found by right-clicking on My Computer and choosing Properties. Or it can also be found in Control Panel.

Let me know if these work
