The oil seal where the tiller attachment fastens to the tiller is leaking how do i remove the seal

IF THIS IS A WALK BEHIND TILLER OR FRONT TINE TILLER. THERE SHOULD BE PINS OR BOLTS HOLDING THE TINES ON THE DRIVE SHAFT REMOVE THESE AND PULL THE TINES OFF THE TILLER. THEY MAY GIVE YOU A HARD TIME GETTING THEM OFF SO DON'T GIVE UP. ONCE YOU GET THE TINES OFF YOU SHOULD SEE THE SEALS YOU CAN POP THE OLD ONES OUT WITH A SCREW DRIVER CLEAN OUT THE SOCKETS WHERE THE NEW SEALS WILL GO REPLACE THE NEW SEALS GENTLY WITH A SMALL HAMMER TAPPING THEM IN EVENLY AND TRY NOT TO BEND THE SEAL

I have a 5 hp troybilt pony tiller. The axle seals need replacing can you describe the best way to replace them. This tiller was built in Feb. of 1990.

http://www.mtdparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OperatorManualView?storeId=10101&catalogId=19502&langId=-1

Go to this website and type in PONY for your model number and find your operator manual by your serial number. The operator manual should have detailed instructions on how to replace your seals.
On the Horse model you remove the wheels and then carefully use a couple of screw drivers to pry out the old seals being careful not to scratch the wheel shaft sealing area. Then polish the wheel shaft with fine emery cloth to remove any sharp edges. Then grease the wheel shafts and carefully slide the new wheel seals on and use a piece of plastic PVC pipe cut square that will slide over the shaft and gently drive the seal to the depth the old seals were installed at. You dont even have to drain the gear oil. Getting the wheels off the wheel shaft is sometimes a problem if they are rusted on. if you can get the wheels off its not to hard to change the seals.

PTO making noise when engaged in forward drive

It's 90 weight gear oil but most likely the output shaft seal has been gone for a consdierable amount of time and has leaked out and is just now making noise, they don't normally make noise right away after the oil runs out. put oil up to the plug fill hole and watch if it runs out the shaft seal if it does then it will have ti be repaiered.

The pump seal is bad on the unit. This requires disassemble of the pump unit. Remove power to the unit, dissasemble pump housing, remove the impeller from the shaft of the motor by removing the allen screw with an allen wrench. Seperate pump housing from motor remove the old seal replace seal. Lube motor shaft with a little clean oil or wd40 to facilitate easy install thru new seal, reassemble in reverse.

Leaks oil around the tines.

an new oil seal needs to be put onto the output shaft of the transmission.  remove the plug wire if you attempt to pry out the old seal and tap in the new seal.  Be careful not to damage the case and grease the seal and shaft when you replace the oil seal

How to remove rear tines to replace seals ?

The tines sometimes get frozen to the shaft. You might try penatrating oil and use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat to loosen.
Also tap wiht a hammer around shaft.
