Question about KVH Azimuth Autocomp 1000p Heading Sensor Power
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
we have following problem with a KVH-System.
After a repair because of failed bus (connector-problem between PCB and connector-plate) we tried to reconnect the system.
The KVH-Bus now is working fine.
The system has following components:
Displays and interface: KVH-Dual, KVH-Wind, KHV - human interface-unit
depth / temperature - sensor
speed-log - sensor
wind - sensor (currently not connected!)
KVH - NMEA-comp. (currently not connected!)
Unfortunately we are not able to receive the signal from sonic depth sensor continuously. Only time by time for a couple of minutes we'll receive the depth-signal.
The other signals, such as temperature and speed we can receive on the displays.
But the speed-signal seems to work not properly. The speed is wrong displayed and changing very fast within a wide range.
Only the temperature seems to be correct displayed.
Please could you instruct us how to check the signals, delivered from KVH-Brain-Box to the sensors and the signals sent from the sensors.
How we can locate this fault?
Do you have any idea because of the reason causing our failures?
The wiring inside the ship can’t be the cause for this effect, because we connected the sensor direct with the
brain-Box without any additional wires or connectors, without any effects.
We replaced also the sonic-depth-sensor - without any effect.
Maybe you can help us with service-instructions or an oscillogram regarding the required signals and the signal-conditions on the pins of the plugs.
Best regards and many thanks in advance for your help
