Question about Mitsubishi WS-65611 65" Rear Projection Television

MItsubishi ws65611 wont go on Please help

I found the c9a60 and it is not a cap. WHat is it? how can I tell if it is bad or not? It is yellow and is a size of a pea. I wrote earlier about the caps that maybe leaking and I dont think they are. The rubber looking stuff on them is on wires through out. It looks like someone put it on the caps. One other question the part c9a60 where could I get this? Radio Shack?

Thank YOU for your time

Actually its a cap. just not an electrolyic. Its probably a mylar cap but without a parts listing it will be hard to tell you the specifications.

Trying to figure out why my Mitsubishi ws65611 keeps shutting off

That is what happens when a tv needs an electronics technician to replace parts. Old electrolytic capacitors have their electrolyte dry up causing voltages to change resulting in parts that can blow. Fix it before it becomes even more expensive.

A few things you could and should try, try something on a different input if you are using the coax connection just to know if problem exists that way, could be a bad tuner but that can be got around, also if on all inputs the set does have a hard reset that requires the Mitsubishi remote and a four digit code to enter the hidden option menu.

check the other inputs first please and let me know.

Changed lamp on my mitsubishi 73733 tv wont come on lamp light is blinking yellow do you know why

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

Mitsubishi WD-62525 BLUE SCREEN NO PICTURE NO SOUND

I had the same problem and I found that it was 2 caps on the power supply board. I had both caps replaced and it worked perfect. While it is apart see if any other caps are bad( if they are puffed up in the center they are bad).

Mitsubishi television model WS65611 Serial 113678. Television does not response to remote. Can manually turn on but no other buttons work. Picture and sound are good.

Buy an infared card at local electronics store. Press remote and point at card, should glow orangey. If not then remote is bad. If it glows then reset remote, lastly open up remote and clean the finger pad on the back with alcohol gently, really gently. Look for soda , coffee etc. Good luck , be safe..

Mitsubishi WS65611 no remote function & panel buttons not working

This TV is known for the buttons going bad. You can remove the speaker grille to gain access to the wires for the panel. You may have to pull off the font access panel to get to the connector. There will be two of them, one for the input, other for the control panel buttons. If the buttons are bad, unhooking them will make the TV work fine with remote. I believe the connector is labeled ZR and is not the one with the thicker black wires (shieled video wires). Unhooking is my fix for this problem as replacing the buttons seems to be only a temporary fix.

Mitsubishi sets are notorious for leaking caps. These are the black caps labeled "Nichicon" and sometimes "Rubycon". They are easy to spot because the negative leg has what appears to be dark acid leaking down, the board has a circle of discoloring around the cap and sometimes the copper trace on the other side of the PC board is all black and contaminated. If you know what you are doing, you can remove all of these caps, clean up the board and replace with quality caps, and this usually solves the problem.
