Just replaced rear shocks on 96 1200 sporty. Took for test ride and found that the front caliper appears frozen. The bike was moved earlier with no problem of moving.

Wrench size front brake calipers

Hi Anonymous, you are better off using 12 point sockets, if you are going to work on your own bike you have to have basic hand tools. The first and very best tool you will ever buy for your motorcycle should be a factory service manual. It will pay for itself the very first time you use it. Unstick front brake 2000 fxd

Hi Anonymous, loosen caliper halves and unbolt it from fork leg. Spin front wheel to see if rotor is warped or put a straight edge across it. Maximum total runout is .008" any more than that replace rotor. Check master cylinder for piston not returning all the way
(no gieser shot) then inspect caliper for contaminated pistons and bores. your going to need a service manual, download one at the website below for only $6.50. Good luck:

Neenchanging front and rear brakes on my 06 dyna custom

To change the brake pads on your bike, either front or rear, you must take the calipers off. They are held on by two bolts. Take the bolts out and take the caliper off. Replace the brake pads like the old ones came out. Then you must compress the pistons back into the caliper. I use either a large C-clamp or a large pair of slip joint pliers. Protect the paint on the calipers with rags or wood. Press the pistons all the way back into their bores on the calipers. Replace the calipers and work the brakes until you get a good firm brake. Make sure you do this job correctly as failure of the brakes can result in serious injury or death.

Good Luck

What is involved in changing front brake pads on an 08 Streetglide

I haven't done a brake job on a bike this new but it shouldn't be any different than any other bike. Simply take the two bolts that hold the caliper on out. Remove the old shoes. Use either a large C-clamp or a large pair of slip joint pliers and squeeze the piston back into the caliper all the way. Install the new pads and put the caliper back in place. Replace the two bolts and torque them to 25 Foot pounds. Squeeze the brake lever until you have a good firm brake.

Good Luck

How do I change the front and rear brakes on a 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic Injected - FLHTCU I

Not too hard - Undo the two bolts on the caliper and then seperate the caliper and pull the old ones out. Insert the new ones and put the bolts back in to hold the caliper back together and then install them back on the bike with the two retaining bolts. Use a bit of lock tight (Blue) on the threads. Warning do not let anyone apply pressure on the brakes while you have them off the bike or you will have a mess and/or a problem.

Greetings!

Time to arm yourself with some coffee and donuts and make friends with the mechanics at your local Harley-Davidson dealer...

So sorry, but electrical system diagnostics for Harley is proprietary. They will be your best source for a solution, and having the bike will definately be an asset to the mechanic working on it to correct your problem.

Cheers, Jay
