Question about Whirlpool Gold 24 in. Built-In Dishwasher Dishwasher
Whirlpool model GU940
Dishwasher was continually running in the wash cycle. Used cancel/drain feature to empty. On the next load, it started fine, but before completing the cycle, I noticed that it had just stopped. Warm/Hot clear water still in bottom.
Unit has touchpad type control panel. No reaction from any of the buttons. Circuit breaker is fine and I have checked and power is getting to the unit.
How do I check if the door switch is working properly? I can manually make sure connections are being made, but still nothing.
What else should I check? I have an analog multitester, but am only vaguely familiar with how to use it. Wiring diagrams are of little use, but I do have them.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It sounds like the thermal fuse in the control console has blown.
Turn power off to unit.
Remove the outer door panel and then the console.
Remove the black plastic cover from over the circuit board if it has one.
You should see the thermal fuse clipped to the circuit board housing.
If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity across it, it should read closed.
If you don't have a meter, unplug the wires from it and and hook them together.
Turn power back on to unit, hold door switches down and cancel cycle. The washer should drain the water.
If this doesn't work, check your door switches to make sure they are closing properly.

will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.

Try jigling the ribbon cable that is connected to the control panel. These ribbon cables sometimes fail. Also check the fuse on the control board to see if it is blown.

you need to check the power only:
1- check the power come to the wall right ,if not
get elecricity man to bring it to plug in the wall
2- check the cord of m/c if it has fuse check it
and replace with same values ampers,....so on
3- if problem still check electricity reach at end of cord if not ,chang cord
