Question about Remote Controls
I give up. My 2 year old hit a button, and I now cannot figure out how to stop the subtitles/captioning when playing VHS videotapes using my JVC LP21036-027A remote. The DVD button for subtitles is clear enough, but what about VHS? Help! Thanks, Harrianne

I am using a Phillips Universal remote I got at Target that controls 3 devices. The code for this is 0504. I have it hooked up with a cable box and in order for it to work correctly, I have to turn the TV on before I turn on the cable. If I don't, then channels don't change, etc.

I can't figure out how to turn the cc off either. I went to menu and then audio then captions and off but they still won't go off. The captions are only on when I am watching HD channels. Anyone know why?

As best I can tell, the TWC remote requires about 12 steps to turn CC on & off - very annoying and I can't understand why it's not simpler. Hit the blue menu button near the top; scroll down or up to Settings, hit enter, scroll down or up to Captioning, hit enter, scroll to how you want CC (off, on, or just when Mute), hit enter, then hit Exit to clear the screen. A pain, no?
