Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

1 Answer

RV heater fan started running even though the furnace is set off.

Yesterday it was off , this morning my wife went into the trailer and found the furnace fan going but no heat since the propane is still off. she checked the thermostate and it was set to "off". She couldn't turn it off. Pulled the fuse to shut it off.

Any ideas???

Auto/On set to ON. Fan runs.

Sounds like the thermostat, the way to verify is to unplug indoor unit, remove thermostat, take pic of wiring with phone or label the wires as to the terminals. Carefully twist the yellow,(Y) Red (R) and the green (G) together. Plug the furnace back in, if the unit operates normally, replace the thermostat. I am basing this on the fact that the blower speed is changing. This could also be an anomaly within the circuit board in the furnace section, not likely though as the outside unit (condenser) is not controlled n by the indoor board unless this is a heat pump. hope this helps. 2014 Heartland Fairfield 405fl (extendend stay) Suburban SF42-Q furnace Does anybody know of any Mobile RV Mechanics in San Jose Ca (Bay Area-South)? Our furnace blower fan went whacky and broke the cage....

Go to Bryantrv.com and click on the Service Manuals link. It sounds like he missed a wire hooking it back up. There are usually 3 wires, red for hot, connected to the furnace and also a small blue wire with a red stripe, another small blue wire connected to varying colors but comes from the thermostat and a ground, usually yellow. There is a relay on the fan side of the furnace and a thermal safety on the back side, under the burner. The fan gets it's power from this relay and the furnace will not run until the fan is turning. It's common for the relay to go bad but I've only had to replace on thermal fuse in the last 12 years.

Furnace blower won't turn on

You may need to replace the sail switch. It senses the fan speed and when it connects the gas valve should open and furnace should fire up.

Suburban rv furnace.

The best thing to do for these units is replace the ignition module, on Ebay they are cheap usually. Clean all orifices where any pressure switches or tubing connects on the induced drafts assembly, Does the pilot ever light?

Heat and Air run at the same time in my rv

yes, replace your stat but also make sure your wire going to y on the stat has not shorted with the wire going to the w on your t-stat. To check to make sure remove the t-stat and short the wire going to r to the y wire and the wire going to the g terminal if it has that. if cooling works with no heat it's more than likely in the stat, if heat comes on then you may have other wiring, circuit board issues

Have a 1998 wild travel trailer and need to

Hello. I can help you. Your gas furnace only needed a small amount of electrical power to operate. The electric heater on the other hand will need a lot more power and most likely will need 220 volts as opposed to 110 volts for the gas furnace. Therefore, a new line to feed your electric heater, sized appropriately will have to be run from the electrical panel to the electric heater. I recommend that you have a pro do this wiring job for you as there is no room for error. Good luck with it.

Dometic/Duotherm propane furnace won't fire up

If this unit has a spark ignition you may just need to clean the flame sensor. It is a metal rod protruding in the path of the flame.
