Question about Dell OptiPlex GX270 PC Desktop

Dell Optiplex gx270

How do I change the processor speed? I switched out the P4 @ 2.26 ghz processor for a P:4 2.8ghz. The bios says speed is 1.6ghz. Windows XP pro shows 2.8 and 1.6. I updated the bios to A07 and the Intel chipset from Dell's website. Still not able to change the speed.

Hi, reset the BIOS u need to follow below given steps(Perform all the steps carefully )

1.Restart the notebook.
2.Tap the F10 key as soon as the Dell logo appears.
3.Using the arrow keys, navigate to Exit Menu, select "Load Setup Defaults" and select "Exit Saving Changes".

Upgrade processor, unknown socket type.

Here I have found the technical specifications for this system, but for informational purposes it is pentium 4 and celeron 478pin intel only.
