Under the menu settings, make sure tv is set to CATV and not Air. CATV is for cable. Then look for tuner options or channel edit options. Find the "autoprogram" option and select it. It will scan and remember all available channels
I have had this problem twice. I found that the tv only works if the refrigerator door is open. The first time I had the door replaced, and it worked for a while. Now it is broken again. They say it is the wiring harness in the refrigerator.
RX-V365 doesn't support HDMI audio. You need to connect the cable box also via spdif cable for audio to work. Look at the box if it uses optical spdif or coax spdif. If optical, you see that optical input on receiver is named DTV/CATV, so use also DTV HDMI for video. Coax spdif is named DVD, so in this case you will need to use DVD HDMI input. Also you need to configure the inputs accordingly.
This sounds like a cable/cord cennection problem. If you are using a scart cable between the tv and the cable box
make sure the contacts are firmly inserted all the way, Sometimes scart contacts are hard to get all the way in.
Howerver if you are receiving the CATV channels the sdame way as the rest of the channels, through an RF cord (antenna cable)
there could be a problem with your supplier of these channels
the tv doesn't need to know that the signal is coming from a dish, so the use of catv while using direct tv should be okay. it seems that the problem may be with where you are making the connection from the direct tv box. plug it in where you would a cable box cable.
Actually I found out that for a LG dishwasher it is as likely to be the cable/cord attached to the spring and door. This a very odd setup in that this cable is made of nylon cord, and not any thicker than a round shoelace! It clearly should be metal cable, and it's not that hard to replace the nylon stuff with steel. Anyway, it is worth it to pull the unit out and open the side panel to see if in facts it's a broken cord or spring first before ordering any parts.
If using Coaxial cable from CATV box to the anolog antenna input, you need to be on Ch3 on the analog tuner, not digital tuner. If using a modulator, make sure its set to ch3 output also. If you are using RCA style jacks, you should not run a modulator. Make sure your TV input matches your choice of jack inputs in the back. Normally, I use the yellow RCA out of the CATV box to the yellow jack of AUX input on the back of the TV and the r/w leads to the aux input of the receiver. so you get Stereo amplified sound from any channel the CATV box is tuned to. If you have an AV switching receiver, it will have multiple inputs on the back and a single yellow monitor out that goes to the LCD TV. All changes if you are using a HD CATV box, that will have its own HDMI or DVI out and your LCD TV will have the same input, then you can attach the variable out or audio outs on the back of the TV to the receivers inputs, that way you have a little control of the audio level with your TV remote control (if using variable audio outs)
This is the chanel set up options I see on the online manual:
- CHANNEL SETUP -
AUTO PRESET CH(DTV)
AUTO PRESET CH(TV/DTV)
AUTO PRESET CH(CATV)
! CATV takes approx. 50min.
To set up for over the air broadcast that local channels now have in HDTV, you will select AUTO PRESET CH(DTV). You will have to disconnect cable for this option; however, the cable company will send local channels over the cable.
Bottom line, if you have cable, use it, it will most likely still deliver the best signal.
So coonect cable and use this option:
AUTO PRESET CH(CATV)
Oh, and the reason it takes so long is because there are more channels to scan with cable then with the local over the air channels.
Doubt it. We ran HD through our small CATV system using consumer grade modulators but could only get them on the AIR frequencies, as we had very limited bandwidth as we had to carry 64 analog channels plus digital HITS packages for our Motorola DSxxx series boxes. Try plugging the CATV feed into the ANT input and do an autoprogram, or tell the tv to look on the AIR frequencies when it asks if you have CATV or AIR. Worth a shot though.
